So far loving this visualizer. Going great with my music. I just had a few basic questions if you folks wouldn’t mind. I didn’t really see any sort of basic user guide, so I’ve been kind of learning as I go. Basically, I’m creating music videos with the visuals & capturing with FRAPS… anyway, here are my questions;
1.) As far as quickly randomly generating a new visual, I found the little dice icon does this, roll the dice, makese sense…. However, in using Windows Media Player, sometimes it’s hard to even get this in full screen mode because the dice comes up when you go toward the bottom – same place that WMP controls (pause, play etc..) come up when you hover the mouse there…. Is there a way around this, or is there even a hotkey that works to let you do this – randomly pick a new visual?
2.) I really like some of the visuals in the screen-shots page of this site (http://www.soundspectrum.com/g-force/screenshots.html#) – are the configs listed somewhere as far as how to get these visuals?
3.) What is the best way to slow down a particular visual that you are on? For example, if I have a slow psychedelic ballad on, the tempo is mellow, how do I make the visuals and things slower to match the temp of the music?
Thanks much, any help is greatly appreciated!

Hi John
Welcome to the Forum.
G-force is a great prog that works well right out of the box.
You can select default categories by clicking the Active Theme icon in the onscreen menu and choose one from there. There is also a way to create custom themes.
Click the Settings icon and look for the sliders that control frame rate and audio sensitivity.
I usually set the audio sensitivity at 5.1 or very near there as it seems to be a good setting for just about any music. As for the frame rate you can increase this or decrease it as your video capabilities allow.
You can also set the graphic to different quality settings, its the first option when you click the settings icon. choose the one that best fits with your video capabilities.
There are documentations that explain some stuff

If that doesn't give you enough help there are others here who know much more about how G-force works now and will probably chime in sometime.

Thanks for the reply juxtiphi. I've been using the toolbar (I have platinum) are these settings available there, or do I need to go to those on the screen-within the part where the visual plays? I'll figure it out tonight when I get home I guess.
In one of my questions I ask about the screen-shots shown on (http://www.soundspectrum.com/g-force/screenshots.html#), but now I see in "extras" (https://www.soundspectrum.com/extras/g- ... rated.html) that there are a good amount of visuals there with many including the color-map, waveShape, and FlowForm info on how to get them, this is a great find! Can't wait to try some of those out!

I myself have been a G-force user since it came out and for my money the Toolbar was a lot easier to use than the new GUI. right now any changes made within G-force using the new GUI will not be reflected in the Toolbar and there is no longer a way to save a theme created via the toolbar. I wish they would reinstate it to its full potential and ease of access and understanding.
The Toolbar will control the frame rate and sound sensitivity by way of the two sliders on the right side of the Bar. Top slider is frame rate and lower slider is audio sensitivity. You can also cycle back and forth through the various configs with the 6 blue buttons in the middle. There is one for each config, wav shape, color maps and flowfields.
I use the standalone almost exclusively so I can use multiple audio sources. The windows media player is still a bit of a control freak so I use winamp and the standalone.
About the screen shots, Unless those screenshots were done with a script there is no way to reproduce them unless you can identify the configs in the pic by eye and then create a script to make it happen.
G-force selects configs randomly and in my experience its been very very entertaining.
If you can create the scripts you can really create some great stuff, but just letting it do its thing can also be rewarding.
