Most certainly
Winamp was my fav because it offered the least amount of lag for a pc media player and a standalone format of loading outside the UI - user interface.
I bought Winamp Pro licenses for version 4 and 5 and I will be making several hard copy downloaded backups. I wonder if pro functionality will be lost if anyone needs to clean install their operating system, no website for online activation?
Thanks BTT

Hi BTT, things are great, summer is coming downunder (next month)
Now using the 64bit OS version of Windows 8.1 Pro with WMC Nvidia ASUS branded GTX660Ti, 2GB GPU RAM, Direct X 11.1, WDDM 1.3, OPEN GL Version 4.4 (according to STEAM system info)
Now Nvidia Desktop GPU's inc. or above GTX 650 can use an integrated inbuilt on board H264 decoder (built into the GPU's) to capture video and audio better than any FRAPS or any other software could with minimal or no lag.
I've been able to record unlimited length MP4 encoded video full screen DX11-DX9 inc. Soundspectrum Standalone's with Line-in and also in-game, it's called Nvidia Shadowplay and requires the install of GeForce Experience
(Auto optimization, Driver updates, Shadowplay and Nvidia Shield)
The Shadowplay quality is gobsmacking with a High Quality setting, around 50 Megabits per second MP4 H.264 encoded with 98kbps Stereo Audio capture too..... Pity I can't share it on youtube without breaching SS copyright license rules.
Thanks from Alf - Ozbeats

You CAN put SoundSpectrum video's on youtube, all you need to do is obtain written permission from them, and give them credit.ozbeats wrote:..... Pity I can't share it on youtube without breaching SS copyright license rules.

I will be interested in seeing your results. YouTube re-encodes everything you post.. and GF is particularly difficult to encode in the first place since things are changing all of the time, all over the screen. Stick to 30 fps, because that is what YouTube uses. GF does NOT tax your GPU, but can be pretty CPU intensive (Sprites in particular). Standalone does NOT hold the frame rate constant very well... WinAmp works the best. Capturing to an SSD is optimal, but may not be strictly necessary. My Frap captures (1920x1080) work out to about 3Gig/min (that is NOT lossless either). Obviously, encoding will reduce that substantially. Unless you have a real good internet connection, uploading is still a pain. You CAN create a reasonable Blu-Ray disc, but I haven't ever been real satisfied uploading the files to the internet.... but that is NOT to discourage you from trying!
Show me your handy work!
luck
(you can ALWAYS upload as 'Private', if all you want to do is test... Don't forget the copyright Nazis may stake claim on your audio selection)

Yes, I tried an upload not long after discussing it here on the forum and receiving permission terms for publishing from SS admin.BTT wrote:Hello ozbeats
Waiting in anticipation to view your video. Any progress?

Unfortunately, Youtube scales everything to 30 fps, my Nvidia GeForce Shadowplay recordings of Aeon, G-force and Whitecap are automatically encoded within my GPU at 60 fps H.264,
at a rate of between 30 MB's and 50MB's per second (30,000 to 50,000 kbps) so throttling and image loss occur.
Considering Twitch as an alternative, although this will require more effort.
Thanks BTT,
From Alf
