Delayed execution

Post by MrBurly »

Is it possible to delay execution of G-Force for a few seconds after Winamp starts, rather than select it from Winamp's context menu.
I ask this because G-Force causes Winamp to lock up if they both start to-gether.
Selecting low priority within Winamp for Plugins has no effect, also I had no problems with early versions,ie pre Gold.

I suggest using Windows media player, it is much better than winamp. never locks up with G-Force.

What do you mean when you start GF and Winamp together?

You mean the "auto execute visualizations on playing"?

Yes,I also prefer to run Winamp with all windows hidden, (no distractions) with G-Force running in windowed mode, using hotkeys for various functions,or context menu from the sys tray.
Its really no big deal, but I would like to see G-Force appear when I fire up Winamp (because i'm not seeing Winamp!!!)

NO, NO, NO!!! Windows Media Player is a big-time resource HOG! if u don't mind drastically reduced framerates, go ahead & use WMP. but if you want faster framerates & a smoother looking G-Force, use Winamp. G-Force looks much better in Winamp! trust me, i've tried both. :)

to solve ur locking-up problem--- disable the "Auto execute visualization plug-in on playback" option (in Options > Preferences > Plug-ins) & after Winamp opens up, simply press Ctrl+Shift+K to open the visualization window (which i assume is already set to G-Force). i know, it's an extra step, but it's just a quick hotkey/shortcut. plus it lets u continue using a less cpu-intensive (& better, imo) player, which allows more of ur cpu to be devoted to creating a stunning  visualization such as G-Force, instead of on the player itself.

hmm... my Winamp doesn't crash when i have "Auto execute visualization plug-in on playback" enabled... perhaps one of your other plugins is causing the problem.
