I've had a chance to walk away for a bit from this latest of my self-inflicted wounds vis a vis file conversion/whatever; and I've decided to use BBEdit 7.1 from here on in.
I can see from the outset that opening my problematic text files in this app shows unwanted code of varying kinds (RTF etc). There should be a way within BBEdit to get rid of this and end up with a pristine text file that the GF engine can read.
I also made the mistake of converting .rtf to .doc, so it appears that I'll have to reverse-convert and use BBEdit from that point.
I don't mind the drudgery, as long as I can make things readable again.
Please Advise.
Thanks
JwP
EDIT: Is there anything that BBEDit can do with respect to batch conversion? Thx
