Windows Media Player is now screwed...what can I do?

Post by nicodemoscain »

I just got the Gold version, installed it onto my system, and when I went back into Windows Media Player to check it out, I get the G-Force load screen, then the Player freezes and I can't do anything. I've since uninstalled G-Force to see if that would help, but now my Player STILL doesn't work and I have no idea just how the heck to get it back...this is SO not cool.

Hello need some system specs before I can help ya.
Also ensure you meet minumem system specs.
This isnt your local "wal-mart" software installation.

Hi nicodemoscain,

Please ensure that Windows Media Player (WMP) is not running when you install G-Force 2.8 and in particular, please ensure that the toolbar version of WMP is not activated (right click your task bar and deselect Toolbars | Windows Media Player).

If you are still having problems, please email suppport(at)soundspectrum.com and provide us with specific details.

Regards,
Key

Hi nicodemoscain. Although not documented... I have found that it is necessary to reinstall GF after upgrading or installing any music program, including MusicMatch, WMP10, Sonique, and Winamp. Things work kinda-sorta before reinstall, if you're lucky, but they work fine afterward. It will cost you 5 minutes of install time and save you hours of time troubleshooting. Take care.

Thanks for all the help, but I did reinstall G-Force again after uninstalling the old version causing the problems and I now have no problems running either Media Player OR G-Force...except for when it decides to shut itself and the Media Palyer down for no reason at all. It will go for three hours at times, then only two minutes some other times and then Media Player just shuts off and I get sent back to my desktop. Any solutions on this?

Sorry... can't help you on that one. I listen/watch mostly under MusicMatch, and it has its own special set of problems. Take care.
