iSight/Live Video Support

How interested are you in live video support in G-Force and WhiteCap?

BTW, there has been a bug report that G-Force standalone crashes under Mac OS Panther when an iSight is plugged in. I thought about it, and I've decided to buy an iSight to (a) attempt to fix this problem and (b) look into adding live video support if it turns out to be low-hanging fruit. Feedback is appreciated.

Windows users, please share some of the more popular cameras out there, what suite is used to support them (if you know), and any freeware or shareware third party software that I could prospectively use as support (so I don't have to reinvent the wheel).

Personaly I do not see the point. It sends visualizations down the path of VJ software and then more and more requests are for manual video manipluation rather then visualization automated features.

Live video input would be awesome.

I use G-force to project onto a screen behind a band and would love to be able to input a live shot into the mix.

There is a real simply video utility for mac called GCam (Catchy name) that allows input from either firewire or USB.

If the Images from the camera/video were effected by the visual layers it would be more than sweet, it would be a saleable item, especially if you can keep it easy on the processor...check out videodelic to see what i mean (works for os9 only).

Live video would be brilliant. We are looking to use G force at youth worship events and the ability to put live video in would be excellent.

We use a PC based system, and would want to use composite video in rather than USB / Firewire, as these formats can cause a half second delay on sending back out. Also use of composite in would enable the use of video / DVD input.

Check out the easy worship site www.easyworship.com they already have a live video feed set up on their presentatin software and Jefff is a wizz on live feeds for PC systems.

It could be really amazing I think-Others have tried it, but your visuals are far more complex and interesting than most. Plus, you could use it to seed visuals (grab the cojor pallet of what it sees, use it as a controller (like Toysight) or video feedback...) or map it on objects.

I suspect using apples quicktime SDK would work well, and would likely be similar on mac/windows, esp since iTunes Windows installs QT...

Lemme know if you want me, recent registeree of GF Gold, to beta, I am correctly equipped for such

This would be a fantastic and welcome feature for parties. It would also clearly separate G-Force from the rest of the pack. Please do it!
