I'm searching for a solution to streaming G-Force

Post by TS Allen »

Hi everyone, I would like to find some solution to streaming G-Force into the game Second Life. Music streams in SL are served on shoutcast or icecast servers, and video streams are cast on darwin and some other type of server that I forget the name of right now.

SL uses QT video and I believe should support GF output as GF uses QT as well. Still I'm puzzled over how to send the feed from GF on a stream so that it is live and responcive to my music in game and in sync with each other. I anticipate lag issues and deley from the server side but close enough is good enough.

I want this output to be live, not packaged as a file, making it nothing more than playlisting. If it were done that way, it would lose the live effect of my sound and the GF product upon my audiences.

I imagine I would need some type of transcoder to send the feed to a streaming site, then the URL is used in SL to deliver the feed to the ingame screens.

How do I get GF to send live reactive feed to the transcoder to be streamed? & What type of transcoder would I need? I use GF as a plugin to my winamp and run it for myself in stand alone at home. SL audiences are small, but would no doubt be very impressed to see this type of visual display. G-Force rocks!!!

Perhaps someone here has some ideas that maybe usefull to achieving this end goal. Any suggestions posted either here or by PM are welcome.

Thank you all for quietly witnessing me being driven mad. :? I'm new to GF, so be gentle.
