error opening preferred audio device and error 55013
Hi Everyone,
I've been having problems with G Force standalone. when i open it i get a msg that says "error opening preferred audio input device". when i right click and try to select my input source (which is listed) i get a msg that says "error 55013".
I've tried reinstalling g-force and my sound card's drivers and even my video card drivers just in case but nothing is helping.
AMD 3200
M-Audio Audiophile 192 sound card
ATI x800
windows xp etc

Hi,
I'm also having this problem (error -55013).
I'm using Windows XP SP2 with an M-Audio Firewire Audiophile audio card. (latest audio drivers)
I have the latest G-Force Platinum version (3.5.6).
As soon as I select my input in G-Force Standalone, I receive that error message and if I start the application with the M-Audio input, I receive an "Error opening preferred device".
I tried with my onboard SoundMax audio card (which is usually disabled while using the M-Audio card) and it's working good. If I enable both cards, the SoundMax audio line-in is not working anymore in G-Force Standalone (still working with other softwares)
I tried with softwares like Mixmeister and Traktor DJ Studio with ASIO configuration and I tried with softwares like Windows Media Player with standard drivers with same results.
Is it compatible with ASIO drivers/softwares? Is it compatible with firewire cards?
BTW, my line-in is coming from the main output of my mixer.
Thanks,
Archer

Re: error opening preferred audio device and error 55013
I'd like to try to fix this, so my best option is to buy the card you're using at newegg.com (or whereever), so please reply with some links. Please pick out some a low-end M-Audio cards since I should be able to reproduce this problem on that, and it's just going to rot on my shelf after this issue is fixed).plb wrote:Hi Everyone,

As I wrote to plb, please provide some links to some not-too-expensive cards and devices and we'll look at buying one or two to see if we can add support for them.Archer wrote:Hi,

Testing M-Audio soundcards with G-Force Standalone
Hi Andy,
There is a few models of M-Audio cards with ASIO Drivers.
If you are looking for the cheapest one, it will be the M-Audio Revolution 5.1. However, we don't know if the problem comes from the Firewire interface, ASIO drivers or the model. This solution seems to cost about 100$ US
If you are looking for the cheapest firewire solution, it will be the Firewire Solo or Audiophile. However, those cards are at least 200$ US.
Does someone else ever tried with an M-Audio Delta 44 PCI card?
You should be able to find those on EBAY.
Thanks,
Archer

Re: error opening preferred audio device and error 55013
Hi, sorry i haven't checked this thread for a couple of weeks and i missed your posts Andy.
here are a couple links to my sound card:
http://www.zzounds.com/item--MDOAP192
http://cgi.ebay.com/M-AUDIO-AUDIOPHILE- ... dZViewItem
it's not the cheapest one but not too much either. my friends love to watch g-force while we're all sitting around spinning records and it will be great to get it synced up with the inputs again!

I bought one of those cards so I'll be able to troubleshoot this when it arrives. Hopefully I can reproduce your problem and we can fix things! Email me in about a week and a half to check on my progress...plb wrote:i also wanted to mention that when i first started using g-force it worked just fine and it wasn't until i reinstalled windows that it i started getting this error. all of my hardware is the same after the reinstall except a new hard drive.
thanks,

The new M-Audio Audiophile 192 arrived today. I installed it, downloaded the latest drivers, and it sees to work in G-Force Standalone by pressing SHIFT+A. However, selecting it via right click or the toolbar gives me an error, so I'll look into this asap and get back to this thread.andy55 wrote:I bought one of those cards so I'll be able to troubleshoot this when it arrives. Re: error opening preferred audio device and error 55013
Ok, folks, this issue has been resolved and will be present in G-Force 3.5.8... There'll be a 3.5.8 beta in a few days, and you can sign up here if you want:plb wrote:Hi Everyone,

If you add yourself to the beta list, you'll get an email when a beta is available for download.

Still no audio response with M-Audio soundcard
I am also using a Firewire M-Audio 410 soundcard. I have tried all permutations and downloaded the beta. While I am no longer getting the error message, G-Force does not respond to any audio from my soundcard.
I would really appreciate some help with this.
Thank you,
- Joshua
