Best settings for G-Force Platinum?

Post by Sseadoubleyou »

Hey-

Didn't even realize this site had user forums until today :?

Anyways I've been using this visualization for a few years now and I'm starting to think I have my settings WAY WAY WAY off! Everything on my screen just looks like a mess, with no common theme or look to what G-Force is doing for me.

In the tool bar I have waveshape, colormap and flowfield turned on and for each of these three selections I have the speed as to which the visualizations change set to the fastest speed possible. For the desired goal frame rate I have that set to the highest and for the visual responsivness of waveshapes I have that set to the highest as well.

In particles, images and video preferences I have EVERYTHING checked, same with the waveshapes, colormaps and flowfields preferences as well.

I assumed I would want everything checked (I think all this stuff is checked to default after installing but I could be wrong.)

Am I doing something wrong or do I have everything set the way it should be set?

Thanks.

P.S. I use G-Force Platinum with WMP 10

This will look like a mess because you are introducing new visuals so often, you don't even get to enjoy them because they immediately morph into the next ones. You should probably use the defaults and/or change them slightly.
For the desired goal frame rate I have that set to the highest and for the visual responsivness of waveshapes I have that set to the highest as well.
If you have the response scale on the highest, you will most likely see a jumbled mess. Gradually adjust this up/down to see what effect this does. Again, the deafult setting does a pretty good job.

In general, you probably want to play with each setting *gradually* to see what effect it has. This is how you will arrive at a G-Force that you prefer. Min/max values are rarely the right setting.[/quote]

My best recommendation is to run the uninstaller (in your Add/Remove programs control panel) and install a fresh copy of the latest version of G-Force. I recommend running it without changing any of its settings for a while to get a feel for the "stock" experience (I personally think the stock experience is the best one).
