fullscreen delema.

Post by juxtiphi »

I have my Graphics card running out to my Tv and when I use G-Force in full screen mode my mouse is no longer on top of whats on my desktop.

it goes behind my winamp and I cannot use it unless I click back to windowed mode.

I have raised this subject before but didnt really get any answers to my delema.

I would really like to know what I may be doing wrong because I am tired of having to manually resize the window so I dont see the border when enjoying G-force.

hi there,

You can edit the prefs file to run automatically on the second screen using the exact resolution, and without borders.
Not sure it will work in the player's plugin but it will in standalone so edit the standalone prefs.

for the no borders:
set "NoBo" to 1
for resizing of the window, if your TV is on the right of your primary screen:
wTop=0
wLft=<width of primary screen>
wBot=<height of TV screen>
wRgt=<with of primary screen+width of TV screen>
then to start G-Force on the second screen:
FS_m=1
(not sure about that last one actually, it's supposed to bu used for full screen mode, I can't remember how I set it up at home exactly)

Which prefs file should one edit?
I'm not trying to use a second monitor, but I'm puzzled that within iTunes G-Force has a black border on all four sides, but both the screensaver and the standalone run fullscreen with no border [the screensaver does this automatically; while the standalone requires me to double click in the window first]. All three pref files have NoBo=0 as their default setting. And changing this to some other number seems to have no effect on border visability or size.

I'm using a Mac, by the way.

that would work in standalone mode only I guess, so edit the Preferences (Standalone).txt

So the iTunes "full screen" display is always currounded by a half inch black border? Is the limitation within iTunes itself, rather than G-Force's Prefs?

I'm so glad you guys took the time to answer my question about why my mouse goes behind eveything else and becomes useless when G-force is running in full screen mode.

I cant believe not one person can tell me why it happens.

I think someone from SoundSpectrum will have to answer that. Maybe if you post it in the Bug Report section they might notice it.

When you say the mouse goes behind eveything elsem do you mean on the second monitor that is not running G-Force in Full screen mode?

yes I run G-force on my tv , when I click full screen { on my Tv} my mouse goes behind what ever is running on my regular desktop ie.. winamp.

I cannot even click out of fullscreen mode, the only way to get the mouse back is to hit escape and then all goes back to normal.

When G-Force is in fullscreen mode on your TV, is there a black border around the edges? Can you move the screensaver (which has no border) to the TV? If so, does the mouse problem also occur then?

I cannot even move the window when I try to use the "no Border" pref.

so I can't get the window to my tv screen , but if I start G-force in windowed mode then I can shift it over to my tv and fix the window size manually.

even though G-force remembers where it was the last ime it was open I still have to stretch it a bit to hide the white border of the window.

I really dont see what is so confusing about my question.

when I double click G-force on my TV for fullscreen, my mouse ends up underneath everthing running on my default desktop, so I cant use the mouse to , change tracks , stop G-force or winamp i have to hit the escape button to clear fullscreen back to windowed mode on my TV then my mouse comes back to the top again.

I have no idea about your mouse problem but the workaround I gave you should cover your need if you dedicate your TV screen to G-Force
it will set the standalone window at exactly the right position, you don't have to move nor resize it
plus as it's not the full screen mode you won't have your mouse problem
just don't start the viz from winamp but as standalone

if you want g-force on only part of your tv screen just choose where and enter the right coordinates of the window with the parameters I gave you in my first post.

Hi there,

I saw on another post you didn't have the standalone
but you have the V-Bar, that should work too
try to launch it and set it to the side & dimensions you want
