Platinum user problem.. How do I get rid of the G-Force Logo

Post by pcaffalldavis »

I just bought G-Force platinum. Now instead of seeing the small notice like when I had the free trial version I get a much LARGER G-FORCE image right in middle of my display.

First I tried unchecking the G-Force logo and watermark jpgs and then saving the theme. That did nothing. Then I found the actual jpgs in the sprite folder and deleted them. They still show up. Last time it showed up right across an old wedding picture of my wife and I while I was showing her what the program can do. OUCH

It's really annoying and I want it gone. How do I get rid of it?

Please not that I'm not complaning about the screen at startup. That is to be expected. It's the continuious pop ups saying G-FORCE that are annoying.

If I can't get rid of this logo then I won't recommend this program to anyone. Once you buy something you shouldn't have to look at the ads or promos any more. It's really irritating.

Can someone help me get rid of this so we can enjoy an otherwise great bit of code?

Pete

Running 3.0.1 on dual monitors. Problem is the same on either monitor and seems to be a problem in every configuration I can manage.

Forgot to add... I'm running a Radeon 9200 SE Video chip set along with the origainal onboard Intel 82915G/GV/910GL Express chipset.

I don't see how the video chipsets could matter much though in this case. The program is obviously getting the G-FORCE logo jpg or code from somewhere... unless it's imbeded in the master program code... G forbid.

Hint: It's a sprite.

I too have found this annoying. It's understandable in the free version that the G-Force logo pops up a lot and stuff, but there should be an option to turn it off in the paid versions (or at least shorten the length of time it's displayed in the beginning and make it never appear in the rotation).

I have tried to remove the logo also and even the "A new version of G-force is available at www.soundspectrum.com" but all attempts have failed, even when I have deleted the sprite folder. :(

In the toolbar under "toolbar preferences" there is an option to "Check for updates (weekly)". Unchecking it should get rid of that problem.

If you've gotten rid of the sprites then it can't come up a second time. The 1st time might be embedded in the software itself.

Besides, according to the license agreement:
You may not remove, alter, modify, deface, overprint or otherwise obscure Licensor patent, trademark, service marks, copyright notices, EULA, or any Licensor documentation bundled with the Software.
So I'd guess they want it to come out at least one time.

What I don't like is trying to double click to go full screen and instead you get a browser pointing to their purchase page. If you've already purchased it why do you need to see the purchase page? But I think they may have fixed that recently, I haven't had it occur lately.
