Some twenty or so of my calculated colormaps might not work next release. So I am paniking. I have created 1000 .MAP files to compensate for the loss.

What do you think might be wrong with them?? Could it be the new functions that are being planned for introduction?
I might be able to help even before 3.1 comes out as it might be no big deal after all.
EDIT:
These randoms are *Fantastically done*. They offer just the right combination of color diversity and softness. I'll keep cycling through just to keep myself entertained.

"God is syntax."
Thanks for the compliment! I've been sitting here watching them and didn't realize that I had replies already.
The problem is my use of the C variables. I am incrementing them for each palette register. Under the 3.1 beta they were coming up zeros and there wasn't much to see on the screen. Check out chk_Four44 or chk_Five54. An entirely new colormap every few seconds. Just didn't work under the beta. Andy said he could fix it but I haven't heard back since my last email. Hopeful that he can implement the feature. In the mean time I am playing around with the .maps.
I haven't tried the new functions yet. I am always behind the times.

One Constructive Criticism...Scripting Maybe????
The one thing to be *really* careful of when adding a thousand maps to the (or at least my) Colormap folder is that they tend to be called up *Extremely Often* by G-Force when in "autopilot" mode...on average at every *third* palette transition.
I'm wondering---short of using only a select few of these---if there's any script that can be dummied up to control the frequency with which they're called up when in auto mode.

I thought *Extremely Often* was a good thing.
A script would control how often but in autopilot mode I don't think there is any way to limit the frequency. How about if I make a thousand more of a different style? That would 'dilute' the 1st 1000. Then another thousand and another.... But then the original colormaps would never come up!!
Best bet would be to remove about 900 of them. Or if you copy and rename the standard ones a few times to build up their numbers....
Too bad there is not a "(non-auto)" folder for each config. I was using a completely black colormap in scripts to mark a colormap change but I wouldn't want G-Force to use it normally. Same could be true for waves and flows. Might want to use them in a script but might not be good for general viewing. Something for 'next version', eh?
Yeah, pick 100 favorites and send the rest back. No restocking fee!
