G-force with different processors

Post by bostoncarputerman »

Sort of a comment/question here -- does G-force alter it's own program to work with each individual CPU speed? As you know, I have been testing carputers (in-vehicle PC's) in a Boston taxicab. I have run G-force Platinum (with Media Center 11.0) in a unit with a Celeron 2.4GHz, a Pentium III HP el-cheapo box, my home computer with Pentium 4 @3.2GHz, and, starting today, a top-of-the-line carputer w/P4 2.8 800FSB and 1.0G RAM.

Anyway the visual output seems to be different for each computer. I am especialy pleased with the small HP -- the foreground isn't filled with sprites, as I guess you call them, but the patterns are ever-changing, colorful, and don't get hung up. The higher the CPU speed, the busier the viz seems to be. Is this my imagination, or is it desighned to take advantage of the potential of each environment?

Also a toolbar question: just to confirm, when you move the little sliders to the RIGHT, the patterns change MORE quickly, right?

In theory, the faster CPU shouldn't make it "busier", however a faster frame rate may make for a more intense look in certain situations.

And, yes, the sliders make stuff happen more often as you move them to the right.
