In JRMC the ability to change settings or show track info etc via a keystroke stopped working some builds ago in Gold so I was kinda hoping it would be back with Platinum but it doesn't appear to be. I know that you can use the button on the toolbar to show track info but that's not really much use on a HTPC where most functions are controlled via a remote with the help of Girder rather than via a mouse.
The scenario is that you just start you music player via your remote and it automatically starts playing the current playlist and displays GF full screen. Then just occassionally you want to display track info of the currently playing track. If there were a keyboard command or some command line interface into the GF toolbar Girder could initiate this for you when you press a button on your remote.
GF 3.0 - Show track info via keyboard command?

Well the answer for anyone who's interested is that the keyboard command should still work but it doesn't in JRMC due to a focus problem that appears to be a bug in JRMC.
Since GF will often be used by 'power users' in HTPC environments I think it would be a useful addition to include a command line interface (Windows Messages or COM?) for interfacing with GF. This would allow you to issue commands to GF remotely via a server-side app such as Girder. Since the GF toolbar can be running all the time in the system tray it would surely be fairly easy to introduce some sort command line interface to it.
