Is there a minimum time needed when scripting?

Post by willrob »

I've made a number of scripts for Darkroom, but occasionally I notice that some configs don't happen. It can be something simple, such as a color map change. When I watch the complete movie and check it against the script, the color change doesn't happen at the requested time. Since some of these changes are less than ten seconds apart, I wonder if there is perhaps a minimum time lapse required between config changes.

Check your paths first

AFAIK, there is no minumum time required. What you may want to do is double-check that you are using the correct path to your script, that you have saved the document, and also that it is in plain-text (not rich-text) formatting. Mac's default Text Editor tries to change plain text files to rich text when you save, and I don't think Darkroom can handle them.
I remember becoming exasperated because Darkroom didn't seem to be responding to my scripts, but actually I had just given it the wrong path. Also, I would check your syntax in the script itself and perhaps test it out in G-FOrce to ensure that it is functional outside of Darkroom. Hope this helps.
