Hi, I hope you can shed some light on these issues
1. Since installing if I leave G-Force running full screen my PC logs off and goes back to the logon screen of Windows
2. When adding a SPRITE folder the folders no longer reset when the folder is changed - I use different folders for different events at my house (for example, on a family night all the images are changed to a family folder where pictures from parties etc reside, on Movie nights the backgrounds are all desktop photos of our favourite movies) In the new version this does not work as it just keeps adding the folders and will not remove them
Another thing I would like to see in that list is a select/unselect ALL
Nothing major, but I have been using v3 for about 4 years and never had these problems so it really needs sorting out so I can continue to enjoy the program
As far as your logging off issue, I would uninstall and reinstall a vanilla copy (none of your additions/modifications), and live with that for a while. See if you still have the same problem. It might not solve your issue, but it could give you an idea what the problem is caused by. My only extensive experience has been on Win7/64/WinAmp and I have never encountered this situation.
Just a suggestion about your folder issue. I am not saying you can't get things to work by shuffling folders around, but I can't see spending too much effort trying, when it is obviously not the direction that GF5 is going with. Even though there seems to still be some bugs setting up themes, you can get some good hints studying this thread on setting up your various Sprite collections. Personally I deleted the distribution contents of the Sprite folder with the exception of '(Categories)' and '(Default).txt'. I created a symbolic link with 'mklink' to a ramdisk containing all of my Sprites (Warning: BE REALLY CAREFUL if you delete/uninstall the Sprites folder, IFF you decide to make use of 'mklink'!! -- UNDERSTAND the implications of a symbolic link to a directory/folder)
I have NOTHING to do with the source code... Logging off, while running, might seem to be the appropriate action IFF you were NOT in Fullscreen... When you report your issue, make sure to identify your system OS and player...
Oh man its that bug again. I had that as well. Are you running the plugin in Winamp or is it the stand alone?
I am going to assume you are running Winamp because the moment I switched to J.River the problem vanished. Winamp alters the token with how the screen saver is suppose to behave as well as the SS plugins and I think sometimes there is a conflict, At least that is my theory.
When I was using Winamp though I disabled the screen saver in windows and that seemed to work. Or you could set it to some very long period of time. While you are in there though you may notice that tick box being ticked saying to log off the user bla bla. You can untick it but you will see it might come back again the next time you run G-Force,Aeon,Whitecap etc.
Was over a year ago and built a new PC since then so my memory is faded. So you can try that or try a newer version of Winamp and prey it might help or give J.River a try, I can't recommend it strongly enough.
I am running Windows 7 x64 and Windows Media Player is the player I use
I have tried it several ways and its still the same
In full screen mode after approx 5 minutes it switches to window view and then a minute or so later it goes to log in screen :/
If the player is left windowed then after 7 or 8 minutes it just goes to login screen :/
Even if I then quit media player the PC still goes to login screen after several minutes - I have to kill all G-Force software and Media Centre (using task manager) to stop it.
If I use any other Viz or even my old G-Force 3.9 the issue goes away

I have been running G-Force on Winamp for years, and have never had a problem with Winamp - G-Force yes, so don't go putting down a good media player - G-Force has had it's bugs, and still does.
Are you part of the SoundSpectrum team, if so what is your role with the company?

1st of all saying the bug only occurred in Winamp ( for me ) is not putting it down its stating a fact. I used that media player for over a decade. It is the best Free music player around without a doubt. The fact it did occur only in Winamp is probably only coincidence since it was the only music player I used at the time. However switching to J.River did fix the issue for me then on my old PC because it does not deal with the displays in the same manner at all. I do get how you could have interpreted is as an attack on WinAmp though.
2nd As the OP says hes using WMP and not even Winamp so the bug I had at the time might not have had anything to do with Winamp. So it was something with my Windows install,Chipset drivers or who knows. When I did look for solutions though I saw I was not alone with the issue and that the bug had been around for a while.
3rd. Having rebuilt a new PC since then I didn't test it with Winamp and so maybe its fine or not I don't know.
Lastly, No I am not a member of SS just a enthusiast who also had the exact same bug as the OP did and you can see this comment I left in my history quite some time ago. I do follow the forum though to help out and try to keep things alive.
The work around I gave though (disabling the screen saver and auto logoff timers) worked for me then regardless of the media player being used.
All that said though that bug did get me looking for alternative players and I did discover J.River because of it so far that I am eternally grateful
ok, not 100% sure but think the screen saver bug is gone after extensive removal and registry cleaning and another clean install
Now back to the sprites
Why can't I just use the Toolbar like I could with v3.9 - I browse to a folder, I select it and ONLY images in that folder are displayed and are automatically selected
However on v5, I select a folder, it ADDS the files to list but does NOT select them and still leaves the previous images selected, meaning I have to click on each one on/off - not good when there is about 200 images I want to use
Why not make the toolbar with the ability to hold shift and LMC to multiple select and a select/deselect all button?
Software these days should be intuitive not a pain in the arse to customise
I honestly wish I had never upgraded, this version looks nicer but its too much hassle - why change a sprite system that worked well before?
