G-Force 5.1b3 is now available
G-Force now auto-loads QuickTime if it sees video files present in the Sprites folder.
Major Winamp embedded fixes.
Winamp ISSUE: Winamp sometimes hangs if the current skin is changed while G-Force is running. Due to Winamp's code/API design, it's not clear if the the known issue of hanging on a skin change is solvable (very little is documented and this whole Winamp embedding process has been very time consuming to say the least).
Winamp TODO: vis window positioning in windowed mode (when using the skin 'Classic')

Hello All
With this version G-Force did run in the Winamp vis panel, have not checked if everything is working as yet, but I do have one problem:-
When pressing 'H' the instructions say to exit GF full screen press Ctrl/Alt/Enter - THIS DOES NOT WORK. I tried Ctrl/Enter, and Esc but GF continued in full screen. Had to turn off PC power to get out of GF, Ouch!!!

[Win7/64/Intel] WinAmp
We are moving in the right direction. For ME, sometimes it does take 'Esc [Esc]' to exit FullScreen, but most of MY previous issues have seemed to be addressed.
I got things to hang [once] on exit, but I can't give you a specific procedure.
When you click on the [X] of the WinAmp GF display window, what is SUPPOSE to happen?
I still need help on this....
This relative pathname works just fine:
StartImageOverlay( "resources/resources.sstome/splash.png",
1, 4, 1,
0.0, 0.5, -1,
"http://apple.com/", ss_OverlayAlphaBlend );
Now if someone could PLEASE be kind enough to edit THIS absolute windows pathname for me so it works in the above call:
"C:\Program Files (x86)\SoundSpectrum\G-Force\Resources\resources.sstome\splash.png"
( test your answer - it is NOT that I haven't tried

Hello jerohm

Well I pressed Esc, and then I pressed it some more. Nothing happened, so I uninstalled / re-installed, and glory hallelujah pressing Esc now exits G-Force fulscreen mode. Thanks very much.jerohm wrote:We are moving in the right direction. For ME, sometimes it does take 'Esc [Esc]' to exit FullScreen.....

The new beta seems to be working very well, no problems with the classic skin or the default bento and Big bento skins and the escape key backs out of fullscreen.
But! not a good idea to change skins while G-force is running, it will crash winamp.
G-force looks good with a border that matches the skin!

okay, now that the Text animations seem to be working for me, I have a question/request. I listen to streaming radio the most. On most of the stations, the current playing selection is updated in the WinAmp playlist window. If I press T, it DOES display the animated text in the GF window... Is there something I am missing to get it to display in the GF window automatically???
thanks...
I switched radio stations, and even though the new station ALSO provided titles, it seems to be 'stuck' on the text from the last song on the previous station. I also switched back to the original station (where everything was working as expected), and it is still 'stuck'
Actually there are other situations that seem to cause the GF window to lose sync of track info... such as opening another window over the WinAmp/GF vis window.

^^^ I wholeheartedly agree ^^^

That code segment is from "Example Overlays.txt" distributed in the scripts directory. While investigating the details of 'KillOverlay()' for my 'GF5 Scripts Notes' post, I ran across this example, and played with it to gain understanding of exactly what was going on... As written, it works. As DOCUMENTED, I should ALSO be able to specify an absolute pathname. UNIX, Win, and the MAC all have peculiarities specifying pathnames. The '/' and '\' interpretations make things a real MESS. I was more or less butt checking the GF implementation, as the documentation is not always as complete/uptodate as one might like. Blame it on intellectual curiosityBTT wrote:...
