G Force 5

Post by rkl4life »

"Look out for G-Force 5 And WhiteCap 5.8 before the holidays "......just wondering which holiday G-Force 5 will be available before? The News is pretty vague and the forum show that GForce5 will not be ready....forever.

Hello rkl4life

Every one around here knows as much as you. SoundSpectrum seem to exist in their own little world. Fingers crossed it will not be too long - Easter is coming!!!

Hi BTT,

Any news on G-force 5? We are all stuck in Limbo with this particular beta version 5 nearly out to 3 months and counting (without full official release),

Its been 6 months since G-force 4.4 was officially released, and although that doesn't seem like too long, consider this.... even for Gold members

(I currently have g-force, aeon and whitecap platinum licenses) 8)

Whitecap hasn't been fully updated to a final version since early December 2011, (that's 15 months ago!) -

SS may wonder why they're loosing customers who fail to renew licenses to receive 12 months of updates... SoftSkies is in the same boat too - 15 months since last updated...

Is there something were missing... did the main office close or did SS staff take their annual leave... for the whole year?

Furthermore, ANY news is better than keeping us in the lurch! :(

In the past there was mention of new versions coming soon which never really panned out

They make vauge posts about the situation and then we hear nothing again until BTT has to stick'em, in the side with a cattle prod just to get another puzzling answer.

They should make it a priority to visit this forum its really the best way for them to understand their customer base.

Still Love G-force!! :D :D :D :D

There is a BETA of the new WhiteCap. I had to stop running it though cause it would crash every 5-15 minutes in J.River. As for G-Force version 5 BETA it has been servicing me correctly in my setup so don't know what prevents it from becoming a final soon.

At least we have the beta's for now.

Be sure and checkout the new AEON Beta it was a big step up.

5.b4 works pretty darn good on Win7/64 (32bit GF versions) now. For some reason, WinAmp holds a consistent frame rate MUCH better than Stand alone versions... but this is nothing new. I suspect whatever Fraps does to stablize frame rate, is also used by WinAmp plugin.

Cheers jerohm regarding your post above about GF 5.b4!

Great to see it is available for download, now I've finally installed it.
I've been using GF 5.b3 for two months now and just updated today.... :D

Looking forward to the next beta release and upcoming final debut!

BTW: One reservation I have is making the programming too similar to that of AEON regarding pre-caching which AEON uses for scenes -
Somehow I think pre-caching pattern configurations would detract from GF uniqueness and it's dynamic responsiveness,
thus it may make the visualizer somewhat predictable

I have a Nvidia Geforce GTX660ti with 2GB of DDR5 GPU RAM, DX11 and SM5.0, OpenGL 4.2 that should easily handle whatever SS throws at it.

Thanks from Alf

:?: For SOME reason, there are TWO G-Force 5 threads ?!? I posted about 5.b4 on the OTHER, back in the beginning of February...
Sorry you missed it then.

Hello jerohm

There does not appear to be a feature on the forums control panel to merge two threads.

Maybe if we can find a way to incorporate a new "I-merge-inany post" feature for the forum....

Seriously though, that would be handy added or part of any forum script.

Cheers, Alf
