Hey everybody,

Allow me to step in and offer what may sound like a grand excuse but genuinely describes what is going on here at SoundSpectrum. Along with the awesomely dedicated moderators here that take time out to help newcomers with questions and problems (that get zero in return for their efforts btw), all the customers here deserve nothing but the real deal.

SoundSpectrum is helping create the visuals for one of the musical guest performers for the Olympic closing ceremonies in London. This has involved a lot of traveling to London as well as intense attention from Paul, Mike, and myself, leaving us less time in the last couple weeks for the usual important things (namely, support attentiveness and immediate Aeon 3.0.1 followup). Also, I happen to be dealing with some challenging personal obstacles at the moment, which has subtracted from my ability to push it over 100% in times likes these when there's so much to be done for a userbase that I care so much about. Oh, and my two laptops in my backback were run over by a car on my way to the airport for London last week so that certainly didn't help Andy's stress level. :D Mike (m2c) here at SoundSpectrum went to London as well and dutifully rose to the occasion to make a shedload of lemonade amidst our extremely adverse lemon situation. All of which you'll see in some way if you watch the closing ceremonies August 12th (in visual form anyway).

So, I encourage and invite you to watch the visuals for one of the musical performers in the closing ceremonies and know that's what we've been up to these last couple weeks. :)

Hello Andy

CONGRATULATIONS on having SoundSpectrum chosen to supply visuals for the London Olympics closing ceremony. You were only 60 miles from my home, so I could have helped with the lemonade (however, as I seem to have upset you a little regarding G-Force, and the Python GUI you would probably have chosen to go 60 miles in the other direction). This is some achievement, the opening ceremony was watched by over one billion people worldwide. All we need to know now, who is the performer?.

Hello All

London Olympics

The line-up for the closing ceremony, which will celebrate 50 years of British music, is being kept a closely guarded secret, with only The Who, Kaiser Chiefs, Take That, George Michael and Emeli Sande reportedly confirmed so far, plus a strongly rumoured reunion of the Spice Girls, and Pink Floyd.

SoundSpectrum have in the past worked with:- http://www.soundspectrum.com/gmtour.html

Gents;

All I can say after watching the whole thing is that I'm still unsure as to what I was supposed to look out for.

I think they were used during the David Bowie stuff, looked like whitecap was incorporated in to the morphing of the pictures of bowie.

also watch closely during the Freddie Mercury opeing for Brian may, there seems to be some whitecap type of effects going on over freddie's body, each time Freddie moves some whitecap like waves appear on his clothing as thoough its moving. Then during brians solo watch for glimpses of the big screens there I believe you will see some G-force effiects, the screens dont get in the picture a lot and after the first part of brians solo you never see it again.

I also noticed some mild stuff during the oasis or beedy eye, If Soundspectrum had anything to do with what I 'think' I saw it was pretty cool. :D

But the thing is that we were ostensibly supposed to be looking at a sample of some kind of completely different project in the works.

Aside from the Mercury "visual", any other sound-reactive background I would have noticed during the show really didn't look too dissimilar to either GF or WhiteCap.

The stuff going on during the Brian May solo looked too "G-Forcey" to me.

(that statement left me seriously shaken... :? )

There was so much going on during the live events, it is possible that it never even made it to the taped broadcast slots

Click the link to see what I "think" I could find of Soundspectrum visuals at the closing ceremonies for the 2012 olympics.

I selected 28 decent screen shots out of about 40 that show what Soundspectrum did for the Olyimpics. The remaining shots weren't that good.

view as slide show for better look, Not bad Soundspectrum!! :D

You might have a point; but if these visuals were supposed to be used during a particular performance during the ceremony, we should have seen it. Just saying.

If you watched the show then you saw what you were meant to see, Soundspectrum wasnt the focus of the show which is why the cameras didnt focus on the big screens very often. The screen shots I got were from just a scant couple of seconds when they cameras were pointed at the big screens.

The visuals were just a backing for the bands, If you saw Muse then you saw Soundspectrum in the background on the big screen behind him.

what confuses me is that there were no vis for George Michael, didint sound spectrum do vis for his concerts?

Hello All

This may hold the answer to whether or not SoundSpectrum products were used at the London Olympic Closing Ceremony:-

The above link applies only for Europe, Australia, and Canada.

This shows the complete closing ceremony without interruptions, use the slider to find sections of interest.
