Standalone doesn't seem to work for me :(

Post by nafriel »

I just bought the Platinum for the standalone feature because it listed Internet Radio as a usable source. I listen to Grooveshark using Firefox, but I can't seem to get it to see that source. Am I missing something? Do I have to do something else other than install it to get it to work?

Thanks in advance.

Hi nafriel

once you have G-force running right click the screen and then look under audio input source, there you will see the audio options that G-force can see, then check the option you want and you should be good to go.

When I do that, the only options listed are Sound Generator (Fluid, High Energy or Chill). I don't see anything else and none of those three seem to correspond to what I am hearing.

Ok

G-force isnt seeing your audio card or the onboard audio for your computer.

what kind of computer do you have and what kind of audio is it using? i.e. an audio card or the onboard audio feature?

I'm running Windows 7 (64 bit). I'm using the onboard sound and my motherboard is a GIGABYTE GA-MA78GPM-DS2H.

try this

go to control panel and click the sound icon and see if the default audio driver is windows or the onboard, if it says windows see if there is another option under it and then select that for the default audio driver and see if G-force recognizes it. conversely, if the default driver is the onboard then change it to windows.

If this doesnt help open a support ticket with soundspectrum and give them the full details of your computer and problem.

Win7
Control Panel->Hardware and Sound->Sound->Recording (tab)
right click (in tab content box)->Show Disabled Devices...

Does 'Stereo Mix' now show???
If yes, select it as your input source in Standalone

standalone not responding to sound

Post by Tjitijman »

Hey everybody....for months ( not every day of course) i had a the problem that standalone was not responding to the sound op my favorite webradio. After searching but not finding a solution , i finally asked help from sound spectrum helpdesk. But after doing what they said...and replying week later that it didn't worked...they where out of options to . i still couldn't open the stereo-mix in the windows 7 audio control room . If gave up but weeks laters i was getting angry again ... of listing to good music and seeing good visuals but the 2 not melting together on my big full hd tv. So i gave it another shot...another night lost from searching the net... but finally i saw this reply of 'choung' answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_7-sound/no-stereo-mix-in-windows-7-please-help/9bf67267-329a-45f5-a6ce-902c6fa6b4bc. So the reason why nothing worked for me... Is that i bought a 1000 euro Sony Vaio laptop hahaha . Thats why no outher solution worked for me....There's simpely no stereo-mix on it ....same for the laptops of Dell and Acer all windows 7. I had already knew of the solution : Virtual Audio Cable but really didn't want to put some unknown **** on my laptop for a simple thing of opening the stereo-mix source in windows 7 sound config so that it also appears in the Standalone options But now that i knew it is/was the one and only solution . I had to try it and bringing above all my technicall skills ( which i don't have lol) And begun with downloading a torrent vac 4.10. Whitin 20 seconds i had it ...for free...i looked for 2 min a youtube movie how it works for the good settings in the VAC control panel.....and within 3 min i linked the virtual cable ( line1) to my hdmi cable( or your speakers what you want ) mic....and there it was for the first time in months....a audio source option in standalone . I finally had G-force's reaction visuals too my so beloved wwwvikingtrancecom 24/7 radio....JIPAAAAA ...THE END ..for you ...Me... i'm still going strong on G-force and vikingtrance together PS : much thanks to the soundspectrum staff for the quick replies and the big efforts to help me with this crazy problem of laptop brands G-FORCE THE BEST Sorry for english writings ..i'm dutch !!

EDIT:- Removed naughty word. BTT
