What features in Gforce would you like?
Seems to me people are having ideas for workflow in Gforce.
What features would you like to see?
I'll bring mine to the table, but if anyone wants to before me .. post here!
We need to make a standard here, either Gforce standalone or through a player, you need to be specific with suggestions as all media players arent created equal. I like Media Player 10 myself. But use GF in standalone also because keystrokes dont always register through MP10 .... >&%$#@

Gforce Gold
1. A menu to browse to specific CM, FF, WS, Sprite, Particle and run them instead of having to step one by one in random order.
2. I agree doing stuff in WMP 10 is kind of a hassle, even in full screen mode. It glitches and gives me a hard time with keystokes while it is trying figure out if it is in full screen or not. (see mark's previous post)
So to build scripts, the G-force standalone is better for me. Then run my audio .wav file in WMP10. It will look for a script file in the gforce scripts folder same as the songs name that I time scripted, and audition the show. Go back to make changes, (dont forget to rescan folders to clear cache) audition.. back, jack do it again.
Other than that I have been pretty happy for what I like to do.

It might be a lot of work for a small userbase as the users will all have a special commercial license for public performances...but then again they are the paying customers.Integration with other VJ software. It would be wonderful to be able to launch G-Force and Winamp from within Resolume, VJockey, Pilgrim, etc.
If Andy does decided to go down this path than I would suggest running it under the 'FreeFrame' plug-in architecture. It is a plug-in system that runs on nearly all the most popular VJ apps. Therefore not writing specific versions of GF for each app.
Whether or not VJs who (then use) use GF will create some configs to give back something to the GF community is another matter entirely.

plenty of stuff!
Hi there,
I think it'd be a good idea to have a boarderless window mode for the standalone
as we can't keep it in full screen on second screen when the focus is on another application with some graphic drivers...
also I'd like the wave/flow/color to be more reactive to the music change (rythm, volume, frequencies...)
but that one is a lot of work I know!

L;
I may be misunderstanding your thrust here; but have you tried changing the NoBo in the Prefs file from 0 to 1? That should make the window brderless.
You can change the respnsiveness of the waveshapes by toggling the "]" key BTW.
Admittedly, I also would like to look into ways to make colormaps more reactive; but not overly so. I once had a program called Vusic that applied various algorithms to make palettes sound-responsive. This IMO seems a bit too much, though.

sorry about that!
Jay,
many thanks for the NoBo tip!
there are many keys I can't use as I don't have a qwerty keyboard, the [] are part of them...
I used the preamp +- to change responsiveness
is it possible to change the key map? that could be useful!
I wasn't clear enough with my "reactivity" thing, sorry
what I meant is could the toggle of waveshapes, flowfields and colormaps be based on events, algorythm? That would involve analysis of the sound, spectrum change, BPM change, volume....
maybe it's already the case, then sorry for the other silly question!
Smoggy: the prefs file is under the g-force folder of your user's directory
if using windows it will be documents and settings/your user/G-force/preferences (xxx).txt

How about a stay on top feature for the standalone version of GForce. I can make GForce stay on top when it is a plug-in as a part of MusicMatch for example but there is no option to enable a stay on top mode for the standalone. I love to watch the generated animations in a small window off to the side and then when an interesting one appears I throw it up full screen to watch it!!
