My guess is that you haven't first selected the display window. Click on it first, and try 'CTRL 2' , which also dribbles some text to the screen, just to see if things are working ... THEN try 'CTRL 5' again.
The other possibility is that Sprites exists in the background layer, and can easily be obscured by WaveShapes, Particles, or the action of Flowfields.

thanks jerohm, for your speedy reply!
clicking in the window doesn't seem to help. the other key commands appear to be working as expected. however, no text appears when i try 'CTRL 2'. (sigh) a bug? or do i have to upgrade to the gold or platinum version to get this functionality?
i've since moved on to testing on a new Mac running OS X 10.6.6, iTunes 10.1.2, and a pristine install of G-Force 4.2.0, with not much better results.
'CTRL 1' does indeed display text on the screen: Error: script "CTRL A.txt" not found
'CTRL 2' - 'CTRL 5' display the same error. any ideas?
i should add that i have been a huge fan of Andy's work since i purchased my old iBook G3 years ago. and i am delighted to see that his classic Visualizer is included in iTunes 10.
thanks again for your kind help.
in gratitude,
bodhi
First, I am working on a PC (Win 7, at the moment), so anything I say must first be converted to Apple conventions. That Job[sbodhi wrote: ... 'CTRL 1' does indeed display text on the screen: Error: script "CTRL A.txt" not found
