Removing Sprites and Sprites folder

Post by Daddo1 »

I've yet to see a sprite I like - and I can't stand the when the Gforce logo appears. Can i juts remove the sprite folder and be done with them and the logo without causing any unforeseen issues?

Hi Daddo1, and welcome to the forum :)
Not sure about the removel of the Sprite folder or if it would cause any issue's within GF,
but I know within the GF toolbar under "Particles, Images, and Video" in the right plain you can un-check the boxes for images that you don't want to see....Not sure also about the GF logo....
You can also add to the "Sprite" folder any images you would like to see, Wallpapers/Personal pictures/etc etc... long as it's a .JPG/.BMP image

I use a lot of my images in GF from this site: http://wall.alphacoders.com/
As well as Pictures of my three Siberian Huskies dogs :)

Hope this helps with your problem?

Thanks - I've already got all the sprites unchecked and some show up any way...there is a bitmap of the gforce logo, but not sure what happens if i remove it from the folder. I guess I'll try a a few things, I can always download again if something gets screwed up

To the file, Scripts\Startup.txt

Code: Select all

// Add this line:
SetSlideShow( CONFIG_SPRITE, false );

// and comment out following line:
//  Run( "logo.txt" );
Because of Copyright issues, the distributed Sprites (backgrounds) are pretty limited and only exist as public domain photos ... maybe that will change in the future ... who knows ...

I have collected 100s of Sprites off the internet, that I enjoy for my personal use.
