for my sound card...

Post by sdsmith64 »

ok...i have a PC windows 7 and 2 monitors. would G-Force give me visuals for anything coming out of my soundcard? on one of the monitors?
I'm running a internet radio station and i'm using Sam Broadcaster http://www.spacialaudio.com/?page=sam-b ... r-overview ...so i would like to have Sam on one monitor and G-Force doing visuals for "what i hear" coming from my PC speakers. is this possible and how would i set that up?

You would need the stand-alone version AND either your soundcard driver must provide you a "record what you hear" hook, OR you can use Virtual Cable ($30 software) to accomplish it. There seems to be a BUG in the (windows) stand alone interface(s ... both G-Force AND Whitecaps anyway) that requires you to set your "Windows Default Sound Recording Device" to the input source you want to react upon. The standalone audio input select has THREE internal wave generators that WORK, but all the other entries seem NON-FUNCTIONAL, EXCEPT to revert to the System Default specification (IF someone could prove me wrong, I would certainly appreciate any feedback). It hasn't been a major problem in my case.
... also, I still live in a 32bit world, so if you run into 64Bit issues, all bets are off ... at least from ME being able to provide real world direction.

I use the "what you hear" option when viewing GF on my TV while controlling winamp form my monitor, I can surf use programs or what have you with no problems.

but in order to do this you need a video card that will give you two separate screens, a clone set up or extended desktop will not work as one screen will be blacked out.

it sounds to me that you have everything you need to do this unless you have not upgraded to platinum so you can get the stand alone version.

once you get the stand alone set up start GF by clicking the stand alone exe found in the soundspectrum folder in your program files. Once its running right click the window and look under audio input then look for your "what you hear " option and select that, or if you should see the sam radio listed there (which I doubt) select that and you should be good to go .

I dont think it is possible according to you G-force providing you the visuals for what is coming out of your sound card and now you want what is played by your speakers but Sound cards output and speakers output is almost same than how could it differ in visulas?
