How to slow down a manual color change??

Post by paulbrown83 »

We are running G-Force at our church, and when I upgraded to the latest version, it seems to have knocked out our slow color transitions. I looked through all of the preference files I could find, and the boot file, and when I changed the variables (I believe it was COLOR_MORPH, and there was one other one - I don't currently have the file in front of me).

We want the manual color change to take about 5 seconds, maybe a little longer. Does anyone know which variable to change to make this happen?

Thanks!
Paul

I do not know how to edit the prefs or boot files to make this kind of change but there is a slider in the tool bar that speeds up and slows down the rate of change i.e how long it stays on screen it should be able to give you what you want.

We are wanting to change colors manually, at certain points during songs. We do this by double-clicking the color, and then at that point, we want the color change to take about 5-10 seconds. Awe don't do auto transitions, because we want to control when the change happens.

start GF and right click on the window a menu will appear look for launch th eGforce tool bar and click.

. The tool bar will open and you will see options in the form of buttons and sliders that allow you to manually change the coler map flow field or particle you can go back or forward.

Another option is to use the drop down menu and by unchecking the box next to any config it will be unavailable until you recheck it, this way you can have GF cycle only the color maps you choose and the slider will make the speed faster or slower.

Guys, i work with paulbrown83 and I think that the problem that we are having was not stated clearly enough.

We have g-force platinum and we run it on external monitors. On our main monitor we have the g-force tool bar where we can controll everything, ie the frequency that the color changes (yes, we know how to do that), we know how to uncheck the box so that we manually change the color as well... but thats where the problem is. In the previous version of g-force, when we MANUALLY double clicked a color so that the Color on the g-force would change, the actual transition from one color to the other was smooth and slow. took about 5 seconds or so. NOW, when we double click our desired color, it immediately changes to that color and the fade is TOO quick. What were asking is WHERE or WHAT settings do we need to CHANGE in the Preference FILES so that this fade time between colors is Not so quick and abrupt.

everything else we know. we know how to use the toolbar, but What is the setting so that when we manually CHANGE COLOR (double click it) --- the fade time just takes longer.

Thanks, we got it figured out.

In the BOOT.txt file there is a preference called "COLORMAP_QUICK_MORPH" and we just changed that value to 5.0 from 2.0

Thanks
