G-Force standalone problems
I'm trying to run Gforce as a standalone program, by running gforce.exe, but when i do, nothing appears to happen.. No windows pop up, nothing, nada. Gforce appears to be running under processes in windows task manager but nothing other than that. Is it a duff install or am i just a plum? This is in XP Pro, nothing happens yet you can see it running in Task Manager.
This happens with versions 2.6.2 & 2.6.1 but they work okay as plugins!
Version 2.5.3 stand alone works okay, which is what I use...

I have exactly the same problem - it executes but nothing happens.. it runs in the processes bit in windows task manager but thats all!
Give me info
Ok, it looks like there a common issue here... Anyone who has this exact problem, please post your OS version and when (if ever) the G-Force standalone app worked normally. Finally, if possible, boot into a different OS and see if it works then (ex, I have Win98 and Win2k on my PC).

2.5.3 is the only version which works in Win XP Pro sp1
Thanks for your response and interest by the way, and a great piece of software!

G-Force not working....
Hi Andy,
Not only do I have the problem of the stand alone version not starting up
when clicked but I cannot get G Force to run anymore within Media Player.
I upgraded to XP Service Pack 1a but soon after I found that I could not
launch Windows Media Player, however the process showed up under task
manager.
By chance I removed G-Force from my system and found that Media
Player began to respond again !!!
I have since narrowed this down to the G-Force_WMP.DLL itself. If I
rename this file media player works, as soon as I change it back it stops
again.
I have reinstalled both Media Player and G-Force but to no joy. I'm now left with boring visualizations again !!
Whitecap appears to work fine, it's only affecting G-Force. I am running it
with Windows XP Pro on a PIII 1Ghz PC with 512mb RAM, any ideas ?
