How to make G-force bigger in full screen mode

Post by larrinski »

I have used G-force for many years, but never played with the settings, as it just works, and looks great. But as of the last update, there is a black bar on all sides of the screen about 1-2 inches thick. I have the resolution set to 1680x1050, which is the display setting on my imac. I have played with the tool bar and different resolutions, but I must be missing something simple...

Any ideas? Thanks!

You need to adjust the frame width and frame height limits in the toolbar. Just make them both "no limit" and you should be all set. Keep in mind that at that high a resolution, G-Force may run much slower, so consider changing the full screen resolution to a lower one.

That didn't seem to work. I restarted iTunes as well. Would a reboot make any difference? Or removing any sort of .plist, etc...

What happens when you launch the toolbar again? What settings does it have for the frame limits?

1680x1050 is pretty big others were experiencing the same thing , (having 4 black lines surrounding GF at high resolutions).

I tried setting my desktop to its highest setting 1280 x 1024 and got the same result Gf would not go full screen until I lowered the res to 1280x800. aqnd I have the frame limets set to no limit

I dont know if its a prob with Gf or what :?

Last bump for some assistance on why I can't get a full screen resolution. I have added a screen shot of my toolbar on a previous post. Cheers

Have you tried editing for full screen res in the Boot file?
I believe the parameters are FS X and FS Y. Try changing the dinensions to what you have set up.

Can you post a couple screen captures without the toolbar in front so that I can see what's happening with those bands? A couple Mac OS users w/ very large screens have reported the banding problem, but I've been unable to produce it here. Seeing some screenshots that show the bands in detail will help. Also, can you verify that screenshots taken via G-Force look normal? (My theory that the it's a Mac OS/driver issue, so the G-Force-saved screenshot will look ok).

Thanks,
Andy

I too have a 1680x1050 monitor and was experiencing the same issue--black borders in the iTunes window and in full screen. Here's the fix:

In iTunes / Preferences / Advanced choose Visualizer Size: Large.
In the G-Force Toolbar, set Maximum frame width and Height to (No Limit).

That's it. Enjoy.
