I recently purchased a DELL Inspiron 6400 PC running Windows Media Player 10. It had G-force installed as a plug-in and things were groovy. I was happy.
I then decided to explore the possibilities of running a standalone version of G-force, playing my own music "live". First things first I downloaded G-force trial version and tried installing it. That went OK but WMP seized up immediately. Things only got better when I removed G-force and did a system restore.
Not happy I decided to try a different media player, as someone recommended i-tunes. Same problem - it seized up as soon as I used a re-installed G-force.
Undeterred I tried upgrading to WMP11. Exactly the same result.
I have now got hold of Media Monkey, but I don't know how to run G-force on it.
AAAAAAAAAARRRRGGHHHHH!
Please help, somebody.

rearranging stuff that comes on a DELL can lead to problems as DELL sets things up that way. what I mean is they set it up for you and they dont expect you to make anykinds of modifications.
what you should have done is go to the control panel and uninstall GF completely that includes deleting any and all traces of GF and soundspectrum folders then clean your registry and restart the computer,
reinstall the new GF and things should be better, but If I were you I would get the full version it has more options and I recommend WINAMP as a media player. Winamp is extremly easy to use and GF works very good with it . Winamp has the least issues between itself and GF when compared to pardon my expresion crappy programs like itunes .

Thank-you for the reply
Well - I seem to be getting somewhere in a round about way.
I installed WinAMP as suggested, but got a very similar result. When I tried MediaMonkey something interesting happened. My McAFFEE software informed me that the file VIS_G-FORCE.DLL was trying to access the internet, and did I want to block it.
Now, owing to a set of circumstances beyond my control, I am not allowed to use my brand new laptop to access the internet where I am living right now. As a result I am basically using a standalone device. Is this the source of all my problems?
Should I go off and find a WI-FI zone and start again from there?
Richard.

there was a problem with the toolbar not showing any configs when not being allowed access to the net this has been fixed .
the GF toolbar also needs to access the internet when checking for updates
you can stop GF from checking for updates within the Toolbar settings.
make sure you have the latest version of GF, hook up to the net let GF access what it wants and see what happens.
