Synchronizing G-Force with MIDI

Post by ddonovan »

I’ve seen many topics on this forum related to this one, so I thought it is time to release this to the forum. There is an easy way to synchronize G-Force beyond it’s out-of-the-box functionality.

To give you an example of what I’m speaking of, let’s say you always want to return to a specific waveshape, colormap, and flowfield during the chorus of a song. Well, there are several ways to do that, but none are as complete of a solution as using a MIDI sequencer. This video demonstration will explain how. If you want to jump to the good part quickly, it’s at about 3:30 into the video.

And if you would like to see working examples, here are some YouTube videos.

EDIT: It is my understanding that you have to seek written permission from SoundSpectrum before you upload any SoundSpectrum products to the Internet. I also believe that the other link could be classed as an advertisement. I have contacted SoundSpectrum for clarification.

I like your videos, and music selections, but am a little confused when I see credits for 'Studio21A' and 'ddonovan', but no mention whatsoever about G-Force/SoundSpectrum, which seems to be the main source of the video content???

Something doesn't seem quite right... or am I missing something? :?
(with the exception of the Visual VST plugin video)

Not really sure what your question is, but thanks for your feedback.

The Visual VST is a generic concept to send windows messages to any window that accepts windows messages. I just used G-Force for demonstration purposes.

The YouTube video mentions G-Force on some, not all the videos. And it doesn’t mention any of the software tools, effects, authors of the waveshapes, colormaps or flowfield, or any other visualization software that was used to generate.
I hope that help to clarify. Thanks again!
