ss darkroom Engine use/documentation ?

Post by xrayconcept »

Hi Andy, Hi Jay
1-I have the same problem as many persons trying to use SS Darkroom.
I get a message like: "do try not use this engine" when I try to select G-Force or whitecap.
The only document I found as a user manual is a readme file.

It says:

3) Choose a rendering engine.
In the Engine pane, press the Choose button and you will be prompted to choose an iTunes or Audion plug-in file (ex, "G-Force for iTunes" or "WhiteCap for iTunes). Only WhiteCap and G-Force supports SoundSpectrum Darkroom, so you will get an error message if you choose an unsupported plug-in. If you have problems finding the correct file, try using the Finder's Find

That's what I'm doing without success. In that case what could be the engine(s) to use with SS Darkroom?
Do you think that I should have G_FORCE installed not in user/library... but in Macintosh HD/library....?
I use SS Darkroom 1.3.3 , G_FORCE GOLD 2.7.1 and Whitecap V 4.7
Do I have to use the "G-Force for iTunes.bundle" or another engine for example?
I work with macOS 10.3.7 on a dual G5. G-FORCE gold and Whitecap are installed in user/library/itunes/etc... they do perfectly works with iTunes or in standalone versions.
2-Are you interested in a french translation (freely of course) of your documentation section (most french speaking people are not very good in english  )?
Thank you for your future answers, for your fantastic job on those very good softwares and I wish you a happy 2005 year.
You have a "Bonjour" from Guillaume Borios the iGoom developer wich is a friend.

Bienvenu!

The first thing I would say is that you need to have the latest versionof Sound Spectrum Darkroom, which is v1.3.5.
Also, you should make sure you have the latest verions of both WhiteCap and G-Force. I mentioned in a post to another fellow user that Andy tries his best to u-pdate everything more or less at the same time so that SSD can work correctly.

I think that if you do what I pointed out at the beginning, everything should work better.
