Whitecap 6.0b2 / 5.80b2 is now available

Post by ozbeats »

G'day all

For Platinum Whitecap users already registered on the beta list

Whitecap 6.0b2 / 5.80b2 is now available :D

*This is a repost of WhiteCap 6.0b2 but because out internal beta system was using 580, the 5.8b1 beta was being distributed (which is 3 months old and has major issues). So this file is labeled 580 but it's actually 6.0.*

- Higher quality WaveShape mesh drawing
- All new Theme and Category config management and customization!
- Added mouse scroll and middle button support to the UI.
- Fixed possible flashing/strobing issues in the OS X Standalone.
- Major enhancements to the WhiteCap Screen Saver.
- Fixes and improved support for Windows Media Player, Windows Media Center, RealPlayer, J River Media Center, and iTunes.
- Boot.txt is now gone and has been absorbed into SSEngine.py.
- Added debug 'HUD' to display performance metrics (via SHIFT+D).

Been running this since it came out. Quite a nice step forward for Whitecap.

Has a much more modern look to it. The new backgrounds and scenes are icing on the cake.

Runs perfectly now in J.River MC 18.

I agree it's quite a leap of quality, 100% better in many ways Direwolf 8)

We now can use a native 64-bit Whitecap Standalone version for extra oomph!
WMP 64 and 32 bit version work perfectly, no crashing upon exit, nice n fluid!
WMC is now an option and also functions extremely well, and fast!
iTunes and Winamp also are flawless integrations of the Whitecap visualizer!

The only one thing I can say that the Realplayer 16 Plus upgraded version has limitations in full screen visualizer resolution,
my default is 1920x1080 HD but I end up with black bars on the left and right sides and cannot find a way around it yet,
and it may be a Real Networks glitch or limitation In the App.

BTW, I would like to know from SS if each visualizer has V-Sync activated internally in programming (if available on the users GPU - Graphics Processing Unit)
This would prevent any doubling down (using the feature in my GPU control panel if it's already activated within the program) as I currently force v-sync on all standalone versions along with triple buffering to prevent / avoid tearing...

Cheers from Alf :D
