Why use this?

Post by meshuggah24 »

I have to get something off my chest here about this visualization program. There is a far superior visualization program called Milkdrop made by nullsoft for winamp years ago. And on top of that its free. Why would i pay $20-30 for this outdated squiggly line visualization? And why do major bands use this for concerts? Why cant they use Milkdrop which is much more visually appealing. Since they use much more then just a morphing oscilloscope. They have complex shapes/patterns and colours all working together and moving with the music in a much more interesting fashion then this Whitecap thing. How much am i missing using this free-trial??

Visuals are all about how it feels to you, I've tried milkdrop didnt really care for it BTM I like G-Force better than any other vis I've ever tried and its obviously popular with many other people, I have'nt seen any adverts mentioning milkdrop being used by any bands during their shows(ICBW) .

I think whitecaps appeal lies in the fact that the wireframes are very 3 dimensional giving your screen full depth and it has moving backgrounds that other vis dont. plus the settings options give you maximum control over all aspects of the vis.

I use whitecap with winamps opacity set to 60 percent so that whitecaps wireframe images look like they are floating above the winamp player while the background blends with the player in a very subtle way. I posted some screen shots of this in this thread

but in the end its how much enjoyment you get ott of it. if it doesnt appeal to you theres alway another vis somewhere down the line.
