Not working properly
I purchased the software and I can't get it working properly. I have it set to the windows screensaver and the timeout is set to 1 minute. Windows 3D Text screensaver works just fine with Album Player as the active window, but the GForce software doesn't start up as the screensaver when it is set to.
The other issue I have is that GForce is only seeing the on board sound, it isn't seeing the SoundBlaster card that I have installed, so I'm not even sure the visualization is based on the audio. It looks like it's just random.
Am I missing something here?
I would like to have Album Player running and have the GForce visualization come on after a minute or so of inactivity.

Hello tony46113
SoundSpectrum products do not support Album Player. This may be the reason for the problems you are experiencing. I would suggest you contact SoundSpectrum direct by using the following link.

So I have part of the issue solved. It really had nothing to do with Album Player, since I was using it as a screensaver. The screensaver wasn't starting after the specified delay and I figured out that after disconnecting my vnc session to that machine, it started working.
Now I have another issue. GForce doesn't see my audio source (SoundBlaster Card). The motherboard has integrated audio (SoundMax), but I am not using that. I'm using a Sound Blaster card that I have installed. The Sound Blaster card isn't listed as an audio source. I have the following Sound Generator (Fluid), Sound Generator (High Energy), Sound Generator (Chill), Microphone (SoundMax Integrated), Rear Input (SoundMax Integrated). GForce sees the audio adapter that is integrated to the motherboard of my pc, but not the sound card that I am actually using.

Hello tony46113
See if this helps:
When G-Force is running, right-click (or control-click) on the G-Force window. You can:
•Launch the G-Force Toolbar (lets you control and customize G-Force)
•Launch the G-Force V-Bar (lets you enjoy G-Force from other applications)
•Switch audio input sources
•Display the G-Force hotkey list
•Enter full screen mode
•Take screen shots

This might be solved choosing the correct default audio device in windows.
I have an Creative SB X-Fi Titanium Pro and had this issue until I selected the proper audio device.
If you have the creative audio control icon present in your taskbar right click and then click the select audio device and set it your creative card and restart.
Also check the device manager and see if there are any conflicts in the Sound, video and game controllers section. If there are any exclamation points disable the audio options not named creative and restart.
I have 4 audio options in my comp.
AMD Hi Def audio Device.
Creative SB X-Fi
Intel Display audio
Realteck Hi Def Audio.
you must disable all unnecessary audio devices. Only the Creative device is enabled.
I disabled the onboard sound in the bios, so it's not even showing up in device manager anymore. The only thing showing in device manager is my Sound Blaster Audigy Fx and the Sound Blaster Audio Controller. Both show that they are installed and functioning properly.
I do have the Creative Sound Blaster Audigy FX Control Panel software installed. I don't see any options in there as far as setting the card as the default though. When I right click on the task bar icon, I only have options to open and exit.
I got an email from SoundSpectrum support about enabling Stereo Mix, but I don't have a Stereo Mix option to enable on the Sound Blaster card. I did have one for the onboard sound, but it isn't showing up anymore, since I disabled it in the bios.
Regardless of the Stereo Mix not being there for the Sound Blaster card, shouldn't I be seeing the Sound Blaster Mic and Line In as audio sources in Gforce? The only thing I have as audio sources are the three built in Sound Generator options.

I am also on windows 7. The software that comes with your card is different than mine.tony46113 wrote:Windows 7
Sound Blaster Audigy FX 5.1 SB1570
I use the SB volume icon and when I right click it there is a Select Audio Device option listed with the others like Enable X-Fi CMSS-3D and X-Fi Crystalizer
Try this,
go into the windows control panel, click Hardware and Sound. Then look under Sound, you should see Adjust system Volume, Adjust System Sounds and Manage Audio Devices
Click Manage Audio Devices and see whats listed there as the default device My default device is listed under Speakers as Creative SB-X-Fi

ICBW but I think this a registry problem and G-force just isnt looking at the right REG keys.
The only other suggestions I can make now are to do a reinstall of G-force making sure to delete all traces of the previous install completely or open a support ticket with Soundspectrum.
Somebody there may know how to get your comp to see the SB drivers as it should.

Sorry I wasn't more help.
Are you guys using Stereo Mix as the audio input in Gforce? My Sound Blaster card doesn't have that option. Creative said it wasn't possible with my particular card.
I still don't understand why Gforce doesn't see the Mic though. That doesn't make much sense to me.
I've been talking to SoundSpectrum over the past week and they don't seem to have an answer either.
Have uninstalled and reinstalled a couple of times.

This could be the ticket!!
Go back to the control panel and look in your audio options again. Hit Manage devices and then the Recording tab. My Creative card is listed as the default device under the 'What you hear" option and this is what is listed in my G-force options
See if your card is listed under recording and make it the default device, I think this will work..

It's not a solution to my problem, but I think we've figured out exactly what the problem is.
"What You Hear" is Creative's version of "Stereo Mix".
According to Creative, not all of their Sound Blaster cards support it. I did a little more research and found that there are others who have the same card and the same problem.
The only thing I have under the "Recording" tab is Microphone and Line In. Both are associated with my Sound Blaster card. And I do have the "Show Disabled Devices" option enabled.
