I'm having trouble figuring out how to make scripts work. My main problem is there seems to be a lack of documentation available on scripting. I have done everything I can think of at this point. My test script is simple. I want to display one Sprite (a custom JPG) for the duration of a particular song and have the Color Maps slowly change. I've been working on this task for hours, and I can't seem to get anything to happen.
Is it a problem with my system? I am using Windows 8.1 and WinAmp (with GF running as the visualization plug-in).
Is it a problem with my script? I have no idea, because there is so little information available, and what is available is very confusing to me (and I'm a programmer). My latest script looks something like this:
Code: Select all
StartSprite( "(File Name)", 740 )
StartConfig( "ColorMap", "105 Degrees", ss_QuickTransition )
StartConfig( "WaveShape", "(None)", 0 )
StartConfig( "FlowField", "(Empty)", 0 )
Is it a problem with something else? I have given the script the same name as the song. I placed it in the C:\Users\[UserName]\AppData\Roaming\SoundSpectrum\G-Force\Scripts folder.
Aside from just feeling frustrated at not being able to get this figured out for my upcoming DJ performance, I feel upset that I spent $30 on GF Platinum and then find it disappointing. It seems hard to save customizations. When it's running on its own in random mode it's beautiful. I think it has a lot of potential, and sadly there seem to be few products on the market like it. I REALLY want it to work for my needs, of course. I just don't know how to make that happen.
Need help.
Thanks,
Timothy
