Using one audio line with multiple applications

Hello everyone, here's a good one for you:

I'm trying to use G-Force at the same time as a Guitar Rig 3, and I'm running into some trouble. I can get either g-force or guitar rig to use the line in on my PC, but I can't get both to use it at the same time (G-Force sees the input, but doesn't respond to it). Guitar Rig 3 is a software guitar amplifier and effects setup, and I think it would be WAY cool to be able to have both going at once. Any ideas on how to accomplish this? I think it might be possible to just split the physical cord and plug it into both my mic in and audio line in, then have each program use a separate input, but this is obviously not a very elegant solution. It would be much better if I could just use the one line for both programs. Thanks everyone!
