Does anyone know how I can go about creating a Beat Detection Application. Not saying that I don't love G-Force, because G-Force is awesome. I was just wondering exactly what could be used, like programming language and such and what books that might be good to get me started on some of this. If anyone knows of any of this I would appreciate some feedback about it.

The most complete resource of the knowlwdge of beat detection I have found is here:
http://forums.winamp.com/showthread.php ... +detection
It is based a bit on the MilKDrop visualization scripting langauge initally but involve many more by the end. A few estiblaished visualization authors who have done work on beta detection are in there as well as links to acedemic papers on the subject. Explores the complexities of beat detection and the theories behind what is/is not possible. It started () 2 years ago now but is updated time to time.
Be warned though it may not be an easy read for the novice.

don't expect it to be easy
Oh, believe me, I don't expect this to be easy by any means, and I know there's going to be a lot that I'm doing to have to learn. I would just like to make my own project out of this. I do plan on spending a looong time on it, hehe. But thanks for the feedback.
