Please post some more info how you did this

Post by fino69 »

Hi Eddy,
It would be nice to see how you did put the image in the WMA.
Is this already possible during the encoding process using the Windows Media Encoder SDK?

Kind regards, Onno

That's a good question. I do not know how the program works, but I would guess that if the program would retrieve hidden album art that is in the same directory as the song, it should work for mp3's. But you would have to get a definite answer from someone more knowledgeable than I.

Did you try the directions earllier in the thread?? It works for me.

*********************************************************
You can find an album cover while the song is playing(or not, just selected). and it is from Windows Media Service.

1. The song has to be in an WMP playlist, or in the "All Music" section.

(If you did not add the song to the library yet, find album info will be greyed out)

2. You have to allow WMP to access the internet.

3. You have to have Internet options--Security-- set on "default" in the internet zone.

OK, here is what works for me:

In the right pane, right-click on the song that is playing, and choose "Find Album Info". It should take you to a page, within WMP, and it will search.

It may show you a list of Album covers. Click on the one you want.

(You can change info so it can search better)

Give it time, and it should install the album cover. Now remember, the Album Covers downloaded are hidden files, so you have to go to

(In windows explorer) tools--folder options--view. In the list, choose "Show hidden files and folders" OK.

To locate the album art after it is downloaded (It will show in the right pane in WMP) , right click the song, choose "open containing folder".

This will tell you where the song and album cover is. Notice a list of "Hidden" Files with a bunch of numbers and letters in the title.

In order to see the album art, you'll have to click on thumbnail view.

Next, right click the song in WMP (Right pane) and choose "Advanced Tag Editor"

Click on the "Pictures" Tab. Click "ADD"

Browse to the location of the picture you want to use, Click on the picture, click "open". Then click OK.

Now, the picture won't show up in G-Force until you play another song, and then switch back to the song you just modified. G-Force also has to be running (Not on the credits screen)

But in cases WMP media does not have the album art you want, you can find it on AMAZON by searching, and right-clicking, and saving the ALBUM art.

If that fails, look on ebay, or just scan the album art on a scanner, if you have one, and if you have the CD-album cover.

Good luck!!!

Problems with album art

Post by Hamanu2012 »

I love everything about this program except one thing; No reliable album art support in WMP 10! In versions prior to 3.0 if you edited the file tag and added your own jpg album art, it would work. Sounds sweet, right? Not! 'cause when the recent 3.0-3.01 versions came out suddenly you got a big black box where the album art USED to be! Like Lee, I've tried it all with no results and received very little support. Is this issue too complicated to rectify? Or perhaps if enough people complain, a real solution could be found here.

You try using Google, and search for Album Art based on the name of the album.

Post by Lee »

Hi markofkane

That didn't work. I found some album art sources but they weren't any good. If you know a reliable album art website or somewhere to search for album art please tell me. Accept for google, amazon, and yahoo image. It seems that you know a lot about computers and technology in general. So if you could please contact me on AIM. My Screen Name on AIM and Yahoo is venomlbk. If you could contact me on AIM or Yahoo so we can talk bout Computers and Technology i would really appreciate it. You know some stuff that i don't know and i know some stuff that you don't know so we could talk and share information. Not Just Markofkane, any one in general on G-Force.

Thanks 8)

I don't have IM installed. But I don't know what the problem is.

Sometimes I have a CD cover, and use my scanner to take a picture.

Also, the album art cannot be too big. I usually go 200x200 pixels or smaller.

It can be resized in MS Paint, or other graphics program.

I am no PC guru, believe me. It's just 3 years of trial and error, and using tech forums, and Google.

Perhaps if you could list the album covers you are looking for, maybe I or someone else has them, or can find them on the internet.

I don't believe that is possible. You cannot save album art on a music CD.

A data CD, yes. Or an enhanced CD, but I doubt even then it will show album art when you play a song from the CD.

If someone can do it, I'd like to know too!!
