Hi,
In older versions of GF, when the media player stopped, then the GF vis would stop as well. In recent GF versions, when there is no music from the player, GF carries on moving.
Is there a way to stop GF from moving when there is no audio from a player (I use Winamp)?
Thanks in advance...
Can you stop GF from moving when there is no audio in?

I hope to try answering your question this way.
The only way you can really get waveshapes to stop moving completely is, you might suspect, to just have no music playing at all. There are, though, some waveshapes/particles that are programmed to move independently of audio input.
In recent versions, especially in regards to both the standalone and screensaver builds, there has been introduced a parameter in the G-Force Prefs file called "A_in" which controls the sound source.
If this is set to -1 (i.e. default), the waves will react to abmbient noise, as well as whatever additional CD/mp3 players you've installed.
(BTW notice I'm not including iTunes/WinAmp etc among them, as GF has plugins for these, as you know. I'm talking about 3rd-party stuff like VLC for the iMac, which I have...
Actually I should by now say that I have the pre-Intel G4 iMac with the hard-drive-in-a-half-globe. The new generation iMacs I suspect may be snappier overall; but not in such ways as really impress me enough to change what I've got.)
However, if A_in is set to zero, the waves will "artificially" move (as if for a screensaver) and therefore ignore sound altogether. In fact, The A_in parameter for the screensaver is set to zero, and thus the waveshapes/particles will function as I just described.
I hope that helps.
