Hi, I need some help

Post by jakeowen »

Hello,
First of all, Thank you Andy for creating such a beautiful program. I have been a G-force fan for a couple of years now. My friends and I have enjoyed it immensely. I almost swear it knows when I play Pink Floyd, and acts differeent than it does for anything else.
Its too bad my first post has to be a help needed post.

I am using an older Mac biege g3 which I have upgraded over the years.
I am running os 10.1.5 (I know, I need to upgrade)
G-Force worked great until I discoved the new version.
I tried to install it according to the instructions, and Itunes (v 4.6) does not see it.
I tried a restart, and a fresh install, with no results.
It does work as a standalone version though, but I really neeed it to work with Itunes. Any help appreciated.
Thanks,
Jay

EDIT:
I have just discovered the stand alone version, now crashes when I try to go Full Screen?? :(
If I can't get this fixed, is there any where I can dl the older version again?

Hi...

I may be missing something; but...
I'm afraid that your best results will only come about if you do a total upgrade OS-wise, most preferably to OS X.3, if not OS X.2. G-Force has been optimized at this point to run best on machines that have the latest bells & whistles installed.
That said, I'm a bit at a loss as to why the standalone works for you. Is it responding to sound (i.e. do you have the old Apple CD player app that you can use to achieve line-in playback?)? Or is it just sitting there looking splendid?
As you pointed out, iTunes doesn't seem to be giving you any headaches otherwise; so the problem IMVHO is incompatibility.

I hope I'm making sense (...Andy? ).

I am having trouble with it as a standalone. It does not respond to music.
It also crashes when I go fullscreen.
I cannot afford to upgrade the OS at this time. Is there anyway I can download the older version again? I deleted the previous version, as the instructions said.
It worked great up untill I tried to install the upgrade.
Thanks,
Jay

What version were you using before? If you don't know what, do you remember when you downloaded it?

I think it must have been the version before 2.5.3, because I was able to find a version of that, and it doesn't install either. :(

OK, all is well, I've got Jaguar on the way.
G-force should be up and running again soon.
Thanks again
