SoundSpectrum Darkroom 1.3.2 "can't find Boot.txt"

Post by G-ForceFan »

I'm on Mac os 9.2.2 using Quicktime 6
I am using
G-Force For iTunes (OS 9) 2.6.4

I get the error in my output video that the Boot.txt file can't be found even though it is in the same directory as the the iTunes plugin.
I tried the Audio plugin - same thing.

I don't see any preview while exporting.
My understanding is that specifying a script is optional.

I am also confused by the fact that while SoundSpectrum Darkroom is listed in the Mac OS X section of the downloads it seems to be a OS 9 or "Classic" application. Does a native OS X version exist?

Any suggestions? Please email me at jeremy.short@sympatico.ca

Hm... First off, you're perfectly fine using SSD on Mac OS 9.

The boot file message doesn't have anything to do w/ the script field--the plugin should have found the boot file.

Try this... Use the finder and search for and delete any folders named "G-Force' and "G-Force Prefs". Next, grab G-Force 2.6.5, install it, and give it another try. Please post back how things go.

G-Force 2.6.5 Mac OS 9

Post by G-ForceFan »

Thanks for the quick response.

I searched my computer for any previous G-Force file and preferences and deleted them all for a fresh start.

I downloaded G-Force 2.6.5 for Mac OS 9

Using Quicktime 6.0.3

I did not get the "can't find Boot.txt" this time.

I still do not get a preview and the output movies are black with the "demo" title at the bottom. (no error messages printed in the movie this time)

I have tried DV NTSC, Animation, and Video codecs. I get a static preview in quicktime settings when using those codecs. (incidentally, the Apple Motion A codec does not show a preview, so I didn't try exporting with that)

I use Quicktime a lot and everything else seems to be working fine.

I have always been looking forward to G-Force output to Quicktime.
Please feel free to use me as much as you want for testing on Mac OS 9.2.2
I would really like this to work.
I will be upgrading to OS X in the next week as well.

Side note: I'm sure you heard this before, but it would be so great if G-force could be integrated with an application like Logic Pro 6 by Emagic (Apple now sells it). If midi data could be used to set and control G-Force parameters in real time it would be of great interest to many people.

I know you are a very busy guy and so I am greatful for what you have done for us so far.

Thanks!
Jeremy

I upgraded to OS X 10.2.8
Getting video output now and preview.
So far only used the default QT "Video" codec and size.
Very Cool!
Thanks
