Last year, when I updated to Windows 10 the process made my sound spectrum problems unusable. Not a big deal, purchased them in July so just had to reinstall. Now with the anniversay update, I've ran into the same problem again. After looking over the forums, I found a post from another customer who had the same problem and the solution was that Sound Spectrum can not do anything about this and that he'd have to renew his license.
When I purchased the program, I was under the impression that the year license grants you access to program patches and updates, and I don't recall reading anywhere that I wouldn't be able to download an older version of the product if I needed to reinstall which seems to be the case. I purchased a platinum license for all 5 pieces of software. Had I known in the beginning when I purchased your software that I would have to renew a subscription this wouldn't be that big of an issue and I would have still purchased your product. However, there's nothing on your website that I can find that specificially explains that if you need to reinstall after a year you'll have to renew your license.
I'm a musician and I DJ on occasion and have been using Morphyre Pro strictly because I needed visualization software that I could run commercially and Morphyre didn't require me to contact them to get a commercial license and I honestly wasn't really sure how often I'd use the software so I didn't really want to waste my time jumping through hoops when there's other software that will get the job done even if it doesn't look as good as sound spectrums visualization.
You guys have lost my business over this though. I just wanted to warn other consumers who are on the fence as to whether or not they should purchase your product. Your software is by far the best visualization software for the casual music lover, and probably could have been a great commercial user product if you cared a bit more about your customers and made sure it was clear as to what they were purchasing. I'll just save my money and purchase some of the professional VJ software that is out there which is miles above your dated product although had you cared more about your customers you'd probably be right there with the software that some of your top artists, dj's, etc use.

you may, or may not have a legitimate complaint.
I have backed up each and every software package I ever downloaded, SoundSpectrum, or otherwise and
as long as I kept my license key, never had a problem doing a reinstall.
Users must take at least minimal responsibility for doing their own backups and
if you don't do that now, it is a good time to start.
Good luck.

Hi FalseLion,
Very sorry you have been jaded by what you perceive to be a lack of information on the terms and conditions of use. As Jerohm points out, we provide updates and support for a one year term, at which time the license continues to be valid for any previous version of the software that you have downloaded and kept handy. In a world where major OS updates (that break previous iterations of software) are a regular occurrence, we are in the process of making changes that can accommodate both our customers and our ability to continue producing quality visual products. Until then, if you write in to me using our support contact form, I can address your specific case, and hopefully we can get your visualizers working again with minimal hassle (https://www.soundspectrum.com/support/contact.html).
I also understand your view as a musician/DJ looking for an easy solution to display professional visuals. Currently, our policy is to negotiate each commercial license, which is indeed a very cumbersome way to attempt to reach a potential broad customer base. We are also working to reimagine this process as well, and appreciate your helpful and informative feedback.
Regards,
Brandon

Notice that the word 'updates' is plural, but it clearly doesn't apply if we're only getting one update a year for each licensed product!SS_Bran wrote: As Jerohm points out, we provide updates and support for a one year term, at which time the license continues to be valid for any previous version of the software that you have downloaded and kept handy.

Reimagine this, that we're conscientious consumers and when February updates were released 9 months ago there were no added new visuals, colormaps, features etc.
Don't over-quote and under-deliver is all I am saying,
If Tunr is going to take another 6 months then wrap it in foam and give us paying customers a decent level of support,
In the form of product updates, fixes, features and newer content for existing licensed products.
NO SoundSpectrum product updates have been released after the latest Windows 10 Anniversary update.

I know; it's a shame. I submitted my configs months ago, but they were never reviewed lately. They can't just put their product development on hiatus.ozbeats wrote:NO SoundSpectrum product updates have been released after the latest Windows 10 Anniversary update.
Is there an explanation? Tell us if there is.
