I can't find anything...

Post by Psytex »

Well I heard about G-Force after searching for a good visualizer, and decided to try it out, so I downloaded a pirated copy just to test it out and it came with a bunch of awesome effects, I made my own theme that I was very satisfied with after using the Toolbar for some hours, so I decided to buy the real deal, and so I did, but when I installed the software I ended up with nothing except some premade themes, so I started checking if I could download some themes or effects but found nothing, then I tried to find out what the hell I'm supposed to do to be able to use the Toolbar, but again I found nothing, so can someone please explain to me why the hell I can't do anything, except for doing small changes through the standalone, when I had the pirated copy I could do everything through the Toolbar, change effects and all that, but not in the legit version, its just empty, not a single Waveshape, Particle, colormap etc to choose from.

Edit: I bought the Premium version
And it seems I can access all the effects through the Standalone, but only through already existing themes, if I choose "Custom Theme" I can't choose a single effect, and the Toolbar is completely empty.
I find it much much harder to figure out how to use the Standalone, the Toolbar was pretty simple to set up, but with Standalone I have no idea how to set up a custom theme like I could with the Toolbar, so I don't understand why the pirated copy (version 3.7.5) contained all the effects in the toolbar, but the legit copy doesn't contain a single one.
Why isn't there a proper tutorial on how to use this software, I've done a bunch of searching but can't find anything.

2nd Edit: Well I figured out how to make my own theme on Standalone, but I'd really like to know why I can't use the Toolbar at all.

Hi Psytex

Are yo saying the toolbar is not lighting up? The little red dots should be green when using it. If its not there is something blocking the toolbar from connecting to G-force.

G-force connects via TCP protocol.

In the past the biggest reason for the toolbar not lighting up has been an Apple Program called Bonjour.

Its not really necessary so if you search your comp and find it . Delete it or disable it from running and the toolbar should be fine.

The newer versions of G-force have a new graphic interface that works differently than the toolbar.

The Toolbar has been left in for us old school types who do not really like the new GUI. Toolbar is the way to go.

The new version also creates themes in a different way. I find it complicated and not as user friendly as the toolbar but its the new style.

Hello Psytex

The pirated (naughty boy) version of G-Force did indeed include what we all loved, and want re-installed into G-Force - the ToolBar which allowed users to select which WaveShapes, FlowFields, ColorMaps, Particles and Sprites they wanted to save as a Theme, it was simplicity itself.

SoundSpectrum decided to convert all their visualisation programs to Python code. as a result the ToolBar no longer had the option to save custom themes.

There have been many posts regarding this issue with some of us literally begging to have the save Theme feature reinstated. We now have a promise from the author of G-Force that the save Theme feature will be restored. That is the good news, the bad news is this will not happen for two to three months when SoundSpectrum have completed the current project they are working on.

It would be a good idea to check what juxtiphi mentioned.
