This one I'm thinking of (but can't name) looks like a comet-tail making its path round a small, visually responsive ring.
The reason why I ask is that I'm looking to complete my "collection", what with adding Meta data to a lot of the "classic" WaveShapes/former Particles that don't seem to be part of any release past v2.6.

Andy: I'd be more than willing to e-mail them to you if you want them (I assume you do, since many of these have been part n' parcel of G-Force practically since the beginning).
They have all their Meta values intact; and after extensive testing, they all seem to be in fine working order. I tagged them with values that IMO reflected their intended responsiveness; but if you detect anything you'd want to tweak/optimize, that's your call.

In return for your putting up with my annoying inquisitiveness in recent days & weeks, I thought I'd share some useful info for those of you who might not know about assigning Meta figures to your waveshapes.

Caveat: These are based on my observations, especially not having authored/worked with any WaveShape that had more than the basic four Meta components (see below).
Serious Thankage is due to Erich Kodotai for imparting his knowledge to me in this field.

Here goes.

If you want them to respond/load as a true WaveShape, the best thing to do is to assign the basic four parameters (Reactive/Detail/Density/Morphable) a value of 4...nothing greater or lesser.

As far as creating effects in which you want something responsive while still keeping it a particle, the best formula (I've discovered with much trial and error) is:

Reactive=2, Detail=3, Density=3. <<Notice the Morphable param is absent. Add this and you'll have a waveshape whether you want it or not, so be careful.

The above illustration, BTW, is in my view best for effects that aren't too geometrically complicated (i.e. tight squiggles with ConB set to 1 such as Meth or Caffeine Junkie). In these cases, Detail and Density can be (safely) set to 4.

EDIT: Simple Unresponsive Particle rule of thumb: reactive=1, detail=3, density=3 (no morphable...see the "2-3-3" example above)

With respect to assigning any value to 5, I would advise that doing this is best if your intent is to make a WaveShape that needs more than the basic four params I described earlier (you can check out Ted's "Sierpinski" for a fine example).

Occasionally, with some that use these basic four, setting Detail to 5 (i.e. my Roman Candle with, again, thanks to Erich for help) will be needful. This especially is where you're most likely to encounter the urge to noodle around (Keep blood pressure meds, aspirin or any other stress relieving agent within reach just in case ;) ).

EDIT ON THE PREVIOUS PARAGRAPH: if you you know *exactly what you want and how to go about giving it form* (or you're just plain adventurous), you'll have a *ball* working through it. Otherwise, for patience-challenged folks like me, keep it simple unless/until your gut tells you to take that next step.

This admittedly is somewhat of a generalization; but with the waveshapes I've worked with (both my own and others), these observations seem to hold water.

EDIT: I'm totally at a loss for the name of that WaveShape I described at the beginning, and it's killing me (Been thinking for two days and rifling through every WaveShape folder I have and I'm drawing a blank). It's a simulation of a comet's path orbiting a small circle. Please Advise. Thanks.
