Have you been having no luck launching the standalone application for the last three beta versions? I have; and I'm beginning to suspect this new 320-color bit fix. Do I have a legitimate hunch?
I received support tickets to SS.com with the same problem (adding machine specs and Mac crash reports for each e-mailing).
Standalone in this beta (And the for the new WhiteCap update) is broken too...
But at this point IMO it's pointless to send for ticket number three if billions of other fixes for Windows issues, Lion compatibility and cosmetic improvements are taking precedence.
By now I would have expected the OSX standalone brokenness issue to be in Andy's Fix list...and I'm crossing my fingers before the imminent public release version.
I guess my unwillingness to update iTunes to the current build was a better idea after all if reports of 16/32-bit GF cross-platform brokenness in iTunes are to be believed.

"God is syntax."
Hello All
I have deleted my original post as I believe my comments were unfair to all at SoundSpectrum. Many thanks to JayPro for putting things into perspective.
Regards BTT

I truly feel your dismay and disillusionment; but my problem seems limited to the functionality of one aspect of the program which most likely will be addressed sooner than later.
I think your frustration lies in how/if at all company Staff deals with issues that are part and parcel of ensuring optimum performance on Windows machines. Frankly, I'm starting to believe that Andy bit off just a tad more than he could chew in climbing that mountain.
That said, though, I don't think any of us would serve our better selves if we waste bandwidth in these forums second-guessing the good folks that have given us over a decade of drooling nirvana. The sacrifices these few in this small company have made--and their ambitions to make that small company grow despite this shit(e)-stained economy--cannot be sufficiently appreciated IMO.
As paying customers (some of us who double as beta-testers and forum mods), we have it easy by comparison. Our waiting to see how (and/or if) the wish-lists we make to them get completed to our satisfaction is an additional price worth paying.

Things need to be kept in perspective. Think about an app for the IPhone (and I guess now you have to include the IPad too, I suppose). One operating environment... one(two) set(s) of hardware... one set of software. Development constrains, good or bad, remain relatively contained.
Now let's consider having to accommodate the PC and AAPL. Different operating systems, even within both the PC or AAPL domains. Single vs. multi-core hardware configs, discrete vs integrated graphics, and trying to support several different media players. As time marches on, the complexity of management grows logarithmically. Even with a large enough client base, you can easily understand the economic implications of the task.
When I was younger, I never took notes; I could commit everything to memory. I started with Unix, and pretty much knew every nook inside and out. As time marches on however, the problems become more complicated, the data set grows, and eventually, entropy ALWAYS wins.
