Help files: U and shift U

Post by TMBrod »

Could someone explicate the oh so crytic Help notations about U and shift U, which refer to purging file cache. I hate to purge before binging...no, I mean I'm afraid to purge what I no not of.

Interesting...12 viewers of this post so far, and no one has put an answer up. Is the question that tough? NO-ONE knows how U and shift U are used?!?

Tom,

We encourage you to email support@soundspectrum.com and speak with us directly about product support questions. The web site forum is designed to provide community oriented tools for interaction between users - not for primary help and technical support.

As for U and Shift U, they are shortcuts to rescan / reload the various configs, sprites, etc. Exiting and restarting G-Force also provides equivalent functionality.

Regards,
Key

The 'U' keys are useful for authors when writing scenes to 'reload' the settings. Lock the relevant scene, make changes to the configs text file, save it, reload it all in again.

Sorry I didn't realise you still needed an answer I for some reason though you had the answer, must have been another user/problem/forum. :)

Key ,

Tbh I have never really understand what this forum is for. I know Andy doesn't want us posting/discuss new configs here so I presumed it would be mainly about support issues.

I still think multiple subforums for tech support, config authoring, feature requests, etc is teh way to go.

Hi Rovastar,

We totally agree with you about creating sub forums for different topic areas and plan to do that as we get closer to the G-Force 3.0 launch, but as you can imagine, we have been super busy in the interim.

Just to chime in here;

I sincerely appreciate the patience and long-suggering of everyone involved. I for one know how impatient one can get when something really really great is about to happen.
And when it does, I'm confident in the short- and long-term results.
