Text titles being cut off in Platinum edition

I am using MacOS 10.10 (MacMini 2010) w/ iTunes (all up to date) and text titles are being chopped in half. I use the randomizer and no matter which text theme it picks, it chops the text most of the time, sometimes it will succeed in displaying properly. This is in full screen mode, with both standard latin titles and Japanese. I did try reinstalling Aeon but still had the issue, I think reinstall the OS and Aeon and still had the issue.
