Hi, I was wondering why when I run Aeon (or G-Force) my GPU will not go into High Performance Mode? In Aeon the GPU will not go over 300mhz, when the full speed of my GPU is 900mhz. Games put the GPU into 900, videos 501 and 300 is idle. I can't find any settings in Aeon or G-Force to solve the problem, and it is the same in standalone or within Windows Media Player, WinAmp and Windows Media Center. Does anyone know of a fix, or a way to manually set my GPU to 900mhz using another application? Thanks in advance

Are you experiencing a loss of quality or is it that you just want your radeon to work at its full potential?
I am no expert but normally a program will only use what it needs to work properly. If there are no performance issues with any of your Soundspectrum products then I wouldn't worry about it, If Aeon or G-force is working properly then its possible they dont need run at 900mhz to run properly.
I mean that If your getting full potential out of your SS products at 300mhz then there is no need to run them at 900 because you wouldn't see much of a difference in performance.
If you are seeing a drop in quality then maybe its a good idea to open a support ticket and ask then directly.

I think the issue is that the SS programs are not necessarily optimized to exploit the GPU to the fullest. Some enhancements have been included over the past couple of years. GF is far more CPU dependent (read: flowfields) than GPU... Aeon depends more on the GPU. Neither come close to what is strived for by the video game manufacturers. Remember, the SS programs are doing realtime frame rendering... Video games are a mix of realtime rendering, and canned routines/images.
I have an i7-3720qm/7850 Radeon 1920x1080, and your FPS are pretty much the same as mine... and my CPU utilization is always [much] less than ~30%. I can maintain 30fps GF Fullscreen Fraps capture to a SSD under most conditions... even then sometimes I get a FPS hit, that takes several seconds to get back to 30.

All I've managed to ascertain is running a game/application that puts the GPU into 900MHz and stays minimised improves Aeon/GF performance. I've not found any way to force either Aeon/GF to put the graphics into the higher power state. Good work. To be honest, most of my testing was over a year ago and with GF. I was using "MSIAfterburner" [use at YOUR OWN risk] to jack up the Core[675->800]/Memory[1000] Clocks. A couple of things that you need to know is that you need to edit 'MSIAfterburner.cfg' lines:

UnofficialOverclockingEULA = I confirm that I am aware of unofficial overclocking limitations and fully understand that MSI will not provide me any support on it
UnofficialOverclockingMode = 1
AND at LEAST for ME (AMD 7850M), I could only change the clocks when I was ONLY using laptop's display. If I had my HDMI monitor connected, MSIAfterburner didn't seem to like things. If you have switchable graphics, the program making use of the AMD GPU (as opposed to the Intel 4000, or what ever), needs to be running BEFORE starting MSIAfterburner. Don't write back that you smoked your GPU
... in general, your laptop should just misbehave (crash/lock...), BEFORE you cause any real damage, as long as you don't mess with voltages... BUT IN ANY CASE... "I didn't do it" ... 
if you Shift D Shift D, you will see the load remains relatively low compared to GF.

... MSIAfterburner DOES seem to lock the clock rates... which may indeed help Aeon, but seems to have minimal affect on GF (at least as I can perceive). I will be interested to read your results, if you end up trying it on your gear w/ Aeon. -jrm
