Actually I think it has more to do with the driver than the card. I found some people who had no problem using the What You Hear input with WinXp, but not in a WinVista or Win7 machine using the same card that I have.

It's not a solution to my problem, but I think we've figured out exactly what the problem is. "What You Hear" is Creative's version of "Stereo Mix". According to Creative, not all of their Sound Blaster cards support it. I did a little more research and found that there are others who have the same ...

Are you guys using Stereo Mix as the audio input in Gforce? My Sound Blaster card doesn't have that option. Creative said it wasn't possible with my particular card. My default device is also listed under speakers and is the Sound Blaster Audigy Fx card. That is the only device listed there since I disabled the onboard sound in the bios.

So I have part of the issue solved. It really had nothing to do with Album Player, since I was using it as a screensaver. The screensaver wasn't starting after the specified delay and I figured out that after disconnecting my vnc session to that machine, it started working. Now I have another issue....
