my point (thought) is that the GPU is already doing everything it is ask, with power to spare [read: not the weakest link]. If you DO find a way to tune things for better FPS, please report back... it would pour cold water all over theory... :? ...in a good way :wink: All I've managed to ascertain ...

Fair enough, and thanks for the replies. I'll have to keep running something or find a way to manually set my GPU power state for now.

Thanks for the reply. I have set Aeon to high quality and set the target frame rate to 60, but I get anywhere between 35 and 60 in full screen 1080. If I run an app/game the puts the card into 900mhz (and stays there while the app is minimised) and run Aeon that way I achieve the full 60 FPS.

Hardware Acceleration on AMD Radeon HD 7950 BE

Hi, I was wondering why when I run Aeon (or G-Force) my GPU will not go into High Performance Mode? In Aeon the GPU will not go over 300mhz, when the full speed of my GPU is 900mhz. Games put the GPU into 900, videos 501 and 300 is idle. I can't find any settings in Aeon or G-Force to solve the prob...
