In the old days, G-Force used to support .MAP files to render colormaps. This had been supported from v1.0 to v4.4. But beginning with v5.0, .MAP support has been permanently dropped, with only native support for .PNG, .JPG, .BMP, and .TIFF (not sure if TIFF is actually supported).
I had to use MakeMAP and/or MS Paint to create PNG colormaps; for MakeMAP, I had to use Snipping Tool to capture the 256 colormap and then paste it to MS Paint and save it to the G-Force.ColorMap.package folder. I don't know when they are going to restore .MAP-type support, but this has been a historical format over the years.
If anyone has any thoughts or advice, let me know.
Can we bring back .MAP-type support?

Hello DanPin
The MAP format did it's job for quite some time, however, as with all things changes have to be made. The G-Force engine was completely changed meaning MAp format files were no longer regonised by the program. At this time only PNG files are being used (I know there are still some none PNG ColorMaps) therefore the answer is MAP format will not be reintroduced to any SS products.
